Afkers in ranked and the hit to Elo

This is a topic as old as time. I'm not the first to complain about it and I won't be the last. Frankly, the whole point behind this post is so I can vent some and to add to the stacking number of players who think that there needs to be a system in place to help the other four victims of this situation.

Now first thing first; I am a Bronze player. I'm not Diamond, I'm not Gold, or silver. I'm not the best in the game but I think I do alright given the effort and time I put into my matches. Do I feed? Sure, sometimes I suck and screw up. Do I win? Sure do! I try to play champs who aid the team and am almost always trying to be productive and positive while playing.

That being said, I've noticed an increased amount of AFK's in my matches during ranked Ques as of late. It's not one every now and then. It's becoming to the point where it's one ever 3-4 games. At minimum. There's always a variety of reasons behind it. Lag, Rage Quitting, Real life, or no reason what so ever given. Often I try to keep the team positive and I've one a few of the 4v5 scenarios. That being said, I've lost the majority of them and there is little that can be done to deal with a five on four situation. Either they team fight and win, our you are slowly grinded to death with split pushing. It's unfavourable and not much others can do about it.

Honestly Riot, you need to figure out something to help counter this. I don't know if other Elo's have this issue or if it's just a Bronze situation; but something tells me that it's all through out the game. Perhaps you should look to other Moba's to see what they have done to help counter it? Perhaps you can look into the matter and determine ways to no punish the other four players who remain? Dropping 20 LP or what ever the case maybe is a harsh punishment to something that is out of the control of the remaining players. Frankly, it's just unfair and frustrating.

I've been to my Silver Promo series multiple times in the last two weeks and have lost at least 2 of the five games to an afk player. That being said, I've also won a few games that way too. It' s unfair to me as the winner of that game to advance. It's unfair to the losers of that match to lose LP. What I've found is because of this; I have gained new anger towards this game that I didn't have before. I don't find myself having fun because I am just constantly frustrated with this Yo-yo effect due to no preventive system involved.

So! Instead of just complaining might I suggest an option:

Put in a LP measure for the four victims of the Afk. If an AFK occurs there should be no recourse to the remainder of the team. Cause the afker to lose the LP in accordingly, grant a small LP increase to the opposing team (because they don't deserve to move fully forward but shouldn't be punished completely either) and let the victims of the AFK leave the game. It would decrease frustration, put people who abuse it down to the bottom of the ranks, and allow people to feel like they're not being punished over something out of their control.

What is the general consensus on this? Am I just taking crazy pills or does the current system just fail?
