At the level of Silver, you're most likely not going to have such a bad time as you would in, say, Bronze 5, which is a very awful place to be if you don't deserve to be there. Most of the time, your team can be so bad that you need to play like you're Gold or above to win, or you need to abuse something that most people at that level of play haven't grasped yet. I know this, because that's how I got out of it, and started climbing to Silver. Haven't made it yet because it takes ages, but I'm working on it. Hell, I didn't even get placed Bronze 5 this season, so I'd call that progress.
I feel like, at the beginning of the season, the ranked ladder is all jumbled up. I fell like a lot of players are held back really low, so you end up going against players that are easily gold all the way down in Bronze 3, so you may want to wait a short while until it gets back under control, before you start getting pub-stomped by people who should be in Diamond or something.
But, theoretically, you should be able to climb to your intended position on the ranked ladder. Eventually.
However, just remember, don't play too many games at once, and take a break after losses! Make sure you prevent that tilt.
