I have never afk'd or left a game. Yesterday, I played URF for the first time, and the game locked up on me. As soon as I could reboot my comp, I returned and played the whole game. Afterwards, I played four more regular games, in which I played actively and with good sportmanship (as I always do). Today, I try URF again, and it locked up, and I reboot and again actively play the whole game. Afterwards, I queue up and Leavebuster tells me I am being punished by having to wait five minutes before I can play.

I did nothing wrong. I am a model player. I have never AFK or quit a game. I am polite to my teammates. I don't troll. Heck, I never even vote yes to a surrender.

The LeaveBuster mechanism sucks and works like crap. It has treat me, whose comp locked up, like I am a troll. I obviously have no problem with the concept, but if it is implemented this poorly, it should be scrapped. I resent the hell out of being treated like I am a troublemaker, when I am nothing of the sort.

I concur. It's not my fault the client froze for no reason causing me not to connect. I got back into the game within five minutes, then played out the rest of it, still got tagged with that condescending "I agree" box.

I'll add one more thing while I'm focused on this. The queue normally takes 15 seconds or less for a bot match. Currently, I have to wait a flat five minutes because I am in a "lower priority queue". That is just a flat-out lie. Call a spade a spade: it's a five minute timeout.

I think Riot should acknowledge that LeaveBuster seems to torment good players a lot more than it disciplines bad ones.

i got leaver buster for leaving a game cause my laptop screen cracked.... idk what happened, but it cracked right in half.

shouldn't get leaverbuster for things out of our control. sure i get that my screen breaking ruined that current game for 9 other people, but it ruined it for me too. (lost series, (and a laptop) >_>) i don't need to be reminded everytime i try and queue up for a quick game, that i cant play a quick game, cause i gotta wait 20 fucking minutes. sure its only 20 minutes..but some people have lives...they don't have time to waste a whole hour of their life waiting in punishment for things that were out of their control.

its bad enough i lost a ranked game/series because of this misfortunate event.

Riot developers if you are reading this, thanks for the great game, its fun!. but fuck everything Leaverbuster represents.

Or Maybe i'm just salty cause my screen broke randomly, without warning, that i couldn't predict.

Yup, people have whined for a stricter leaverbuster system for a long time. Now they have overdone it.

My computer reset "windows update" and when i got back i had only missed about 5 mins of in game time and at the end i got a leavebuster warning.. now this is the 1st time i have ever seen this before.. i came back and finished the game.. we won.. and yet i still get hit with a leaver??

The "I agree" box is particularly obnoxious and passive aggressive, because it will not accept any explanatory input such as "the game locked up" or "I didn't quit".

I agree with the principle of LeaveBuster, but at least my personal experience is that it essentially trolls people who are playing the right way but who suffer misfortune instead of the griefing players it purports to target.

Riot has still not addressed this problem. Between the time I started this thread and today, I've literally played approximately 100 matches where I am consistently noted for my teamwork, friendliness and helpfulness. Today, my comp locks up in a game, and the jack-booted Leaverbuster system kicks in, giving me a 10 minute penalty per match for five matches. Leaverbuster is a good concept, but a billion dollar company like Riot can certainly do better than the half-assed system it currently has in place, which makes no distinction between a griefing player and a good player suffering technical misfortune.

Six months later, and absolutely nothing has been done with the Leaverbuster system, which is poorly designed and cannot differentiate between trollish quitting and honest players who suffer from game crashes. Why is nothing ever done on an aspect of the game that affects so many people?

A year later, and this system is as poorly designed as ever. We know Riot can design good things, so why do they keep such a poorly designed and functioning system in the game.

Five months later, and Leaverbuster is just as bad as it has ever been. The server knocks me off in the middle of the game, and I tried to get back on but was unable to. An hour later, I am finally able to log on, and I am informed that I am placed in a "low priority queue" for abandoning a game. This is flat out bs.
