Why does it always take me like 50-75 games to get out of silver but
less than 50 to hit plat 5 from G5
what is wrong with these players?
I am starting to think Silver players just don't want to win games

My opinion is that it's because Silver is the default rank that people playing their first season of ranked get placed at. My first season I got placed in silver 2, when I was definitely only deserving of bronze 1 at BEST.
I deserved bronze 5 on my first time playing ranked, but I landed silver 2. It was completely absurd.
Rarely anyone deserves B5. That's the worst of the worst, on the other end of the bell curve. The statistical average is between B3-S3 or so.
I probably didn't really deserve bronze 5, but I was bad.
Agreed. Professor Akali got placed into Silver IV after winning all 10 of his promo's. And he's a high elo akali main.
Yup. I see plenty of games decided by which team gets the first season ranked guy that went 3/7 in placements and somehow got S3. They inevitably feed like crazy and lose. Not sure who gains by putting them in silver instead of bronze 1 or something. I know for sure I didn't deserve to be in silver when I started ranked. Was probably mid bronze at best.
To be honest, most Silver games are determined solely on which team has the emotionally unstable jackass. It is LITERALLY a lottery.
Or the afk, we have won a few with someone on our team tagging their ping constantly lol, but it wasn't easy... I have also noticed that if we get too far ahead, my team is like "haha lets just do dumb ass shit and get kills to finish builds!"

FTFY
Because silver is full of bronze and wood players that Riot likes to drop in S3 because they hit lvl 30
Because silver is basically bronze. Bronze players can be placed in silver with gold players who also are placed in silver. Thus, in silver, you have a skill variance from terrible bronze players to gold players who shit on these bronze players, with mediocre players who are actually silver. Since there is so much variance in skill, lots of games are random... some can be one-sided losses or stomps. I was placed in silver 4, got on like a 17 game winstreak, carrying 80% of them (going around 12/2 every game) so freaking easy. Then I hit high silver/low gold mrr where so many players are god-awful, and I am no where good enough to solo-carry games at this elo, but I am good enough to get the freak out of silver, but so far, I am hard-stuck silver 1. Feels bad.
You're the same guy who admitted to throwing games and inting to get placed silver. You shouldn't even be allowed to play period.
You even bragged about how easy silver was. Funny how you changed your tune.
It's in every elo. You are far ahead but instead of sitting back and enjoy some freelo everyone is like "nooooooo i need to carry" and dies over and over again and end up throwing.
Gold/ Plat 5 players aren't that much better than silver that they can consistently rofl-stomp them everytime. Thus it's easier to win with players that know what they are doing.

I can consistenly rofl stomp up to gold 1, and I am a plat 3 player, w/e I play on a bronze acc I win at a 95% win rate until gold 1. I think every plat 3 player and up can pull this off btw.
Less random skill.
Silver has the highest skill variance by far: some should be mid- bronze and some know how to stomp lane and close games (though usually the mid game is off in that case).
Gold players have proven they can consistently play at a certain level and have at least SOME direction at most points in a game, making and following plans and general strats, if often clunkily.
Thus, being able to win lane and lead a team lends itself to victory in an environment where your team is stable enough to realize what's going on and work with you for a win.
Eh every time I get to my gold series I just start getting smacked with games where my team is feeding 1-3 kills before I can finish my second buff. Or people that insist on playing gimmick or off meta stuff then feed and rage at everyone. This continues straight down to S2 and then I have to climb through S1 all over again. I go from 55-60% Winrate down to 48-49%. Rinse repeat. I know I'll get out at some point as I have done it before it is just straight up cancer to get there.
If anyone playing Ranked for the first time would start out in Bronze, maybe i could take the Ranked System a little more serious. But the way it is..
Was this recently changed?
When I first started ranked in season 6 I went 4-6 and was placed in bronze 5.
During your placements they will match you will silvers.
Doesn't matter anyway. Account in gold 1 costs 5$. Kids can buy this with their pocket money and ruin games for many people. So it's not just ranked system. It's also riot being blind on elo boosted and bought accounts.
doesn't help that silver is where most people start rank at and if you're going to post about players not wanting to win atleast actually try to win in your games so that way it doesn't look like a sh*tpost if they get the bright idea to look you up ._.

what are you even on about, i'm on a loss streak from this weekend only hence the post
i had well over 70% w/r on this account before friday night hit and randomly i'm losing almost every game, definitely not skipping tiers anymore or getting my 35LP per win
Honestly the reason most players are stuck in silver isn't because they don't know how to play games, alot of silvers I see play better than most golds. They are silver because they don't know how to end games.
If they were better than golds theyd be gold you can carry out of silver on 100% mechanics.
Lane mechanics is one thing. Silver players can hold themselves against golds in lane most of the time.
It's the macro-game that counts.
No its not lol, I climbed silver to gold on my smurf just stomping lane every single game and not playing macro at all.
You obviously had macro or u wouldn't be closing out games.
{quoted} My smurf Theres the word i was looking for, you've obviously been gold or higher before so it's easier for you to carry yourself out but for some one that's never been to gold before it's going to be hard for them to carry themselves out
A lot of the time they actually know how, they just don't want to end the fucking game. They'd rather dick around getting picks in the jungle and fountain diving until the enemy scales instead of killing the goddamn Nexus.
Because 90% of silver is god awful and will throw if you don't go 20/2 on a carry while gold its more like 30% of people who stumbled in and have no clue what theyre doing. I literally had a silver veigar lose lane to lucain and then call him op, you know, the weakest adc in the game currently.
In terms of matchmakingSilver is probably the most fucked up division in the entire system. You have
The skill disparity in any given game ends up being downright fucking ridiculous and you can legitimately end up with platinum quality players going up against bronze quality players. It also (along with platinum) has a reputation for being the most consistently toxic elo.

- Smurfs in the process of climbing
- Boosters in the process of climbing
- People playing their first ranked games EVER
- People who got lucky in placements
- People who got unlucky in placements
- Trolls
- People intentionally tanking MMR to get in bronze
- Clamped Silver V players that should be in bronze
- etc.

this ¬.¬
I Basically played normals almost exclusively for 2 seasons which put me in a position to talk to people about league but not share their perspective on ranked, and when I would hear people talk about how teammates would constantly lose them games, I would constantly think "This guy is just trying to blame others theres no way he gets that every game" Now I know
I'm skeptical that that happened to you.
But regardless, yes, Silver players are inconsistent. Good play in Gold-Plat is defined by playing safe and smart, but that is not enough to hard-carry in Silver. So most Silver matches are a toss-up based on matchmaking and the wide-variance of performance that each player contributes. i.e. Lots of games are determined by who has the AFK or the first-time jungler who doesn't even look up a good build, which is hard to over-come just by winning lane and playing safe yourself.
Does it matter though? You can still climb out of silver eventually. And you can still learn and practice in most of those games (unless it's an ff@15 game, but let's be honest, that's not super common, even in Silver). Just enjoy being better than most of the players in the game, while it lasts.
MMR doesn't reset per Season (unlike your Rank), so once you reach Gold/Plat MMR, you won't have to suffer Silver players ever again. Although returning Gold players, who haven't played in 6 months, can be just as bad.
Just take pride in your skill, focus on your own improvement, and otherwise enjoy the game for the fun of it. I know we all want to reach our milestone goals ASAP, but it's the journey that counts most, right? Besides, if you don't care about League enough to play 100-200 games in a year, then maybe getting Plat rank shouldn't be that important to you either?
But I'm rambling now. Uh... yeah, silver players suck. Don't be a silver player, I guess.
(Sorry, Silver players. I didn't mean it personally. It's just a rank in video game; don't let it bother you, unless you want it to. You do you.)
You cannot win 60% or more games in silver by consistently making good decisions and outplaying your opponents.
So you can't climb out of silver quickly if you have that playstyle. Which is the playstyle you NEED to have in order to climb to plat or higher.
It's pathetic, but it's true. If you want to climb out of silver quickly you need to play a snowbally champ and hard carry. If you play for consistently being better than your lane opponent, you'll only win marginally over 50% and if you don't get lucky it will take a long time to climb. Get a few unlucky losses in placements? Go through it all over again.
True hell is in bronze. If you aren't playing a carry role you have virtually no impact on your chances of winning. Any tank in toplane, any support, any auxiliary midlaner or jungler and you're left to the whims of matchmaking to give you a team with more capable carries than the enemy team.
You don't climb out of Bronze by playing by the book. You should focus on absolutely nothing but the most efficient route out, THEN you can play League of Legends. Just cheese the shit out out of it and get out as fast as possible.
Yeah I got placed in bronze three and i just started in the begining of december. I wanted to see how ranked is and from my perspective...it sucks. I don't have any kind of fun. You either get an afk,a troll, or a flamer or hell why not a combo? And a lot of times it doesn't feel like a fair match. Like I can do really well in draft norms and i see plenty of silver and gold players and I can figure out why we lost. In ranked though half the time I cant figure out where we went wrong during the game...after I watch its either someone got greedy or no one warded this or that or hey the dragon was open for 20 minutes and regardless if pinging it people still wanna kill chase...stupid crap like that. Now bear in mind I played support for every one of my games in ranked (I think i might have played bot once) so I am ever so slightly dependent on my adc doing their job...now wanna know what I see alot of? VAYNE. FUCKING HELL DO I SEE ALOT OF VAYNE. And generally i have her on my team which you thing would be good right? WRONG. Every vayne i get can never seem to get last hit on cs (and i am not good at it either but if you take a role you should be able to do stuff like that) so while i am trying to poke the enemy they engage even though they are behind in gold by like 20 and they already have their first item... like dude chill i am trying to throw them off and chizzle away at their health so that when our jungle comes down we have a better chance to get a kill just wait...and what do these people do? Engage, die and blame me. [slayer-jinx-unamused] Look I know I am not the best player but I know that I shouldn't be in bronze, low silver probably but I reallyyyyy don't think i belong in bronze. But honestly...I don't care about my border.. I am just gonna stick to casuals because I don't like all of the stress and fighting over a video game. So I will just have fun there because I play this game to relax , I don't wanna feel like crap because I missed one stun and my whole team is blaming me.
I was stuck in Silver for such a long time, and people always told me I should blame myself instead of teammates.
But umm?? When I had created a new account a while ago (back when not banned..), I went straight to Gold, and not only that, but I also felt this type of... FUN.
I climbed until plat on that account. But most importantly, I actually felt CHALLENGED. I was NOT held back from selfish teammates. I could focus almost 100% of time on gameplay. And it was fun because wins were based on my actual SKILL instead of which team tilted more.
Here is my answer to your question:
Bronze is bad, and chaos. We all know it. But Silver? A lot of them, I'll admit, do have potential. But they simply don't WANT to win. A lot of them are very selfish and cannot seem to swallow their pride to listen to or follow up on shotcalls, and instead think they have to make their own plays for some reason, cause they always want to be in the spotlight.
Of course, not all Silvers are like this, but this specific attitude drops massively from Silver to Gold, but starts again at high plat. I guess it's cause Gold and Diamond sound better than Silver or Plat? Either way, the teammates in Silver are very arrogant, and do not seem to even want to win the game. Even if you are nice all game and thoroughly explain, they'll absolutely DECLINE and push away any sort of learning. And this affects the outcomes of the games, obviously.
And all of this accumulated to me being stuck in Silver. I tilt easily, and I play like a Bronze 5 when I'm mad. It's not that my teammates are bad in Silver, no. I mean, sure, they are I guess, but what pisses ME off is the arrogance of my teammates. The fact that they would rather LOSE the game than listen to a call, or do whatever would help the game. The fact that they have the need to show off for some reason, and simply do not want to learn when I teach them some good tips real quick because they are "better than that" (dignity-wise). Their ego is too much... (same with really high plat, but that is expected since it's so close to Diamond).
Wow this was a wall of text...
I feel bad for a lot of other Silvers that are like me. They will not be able to play to their full potential, and actually have those fun games based on a lot more intense macro knowledge.
Which is the defining reason I don't play ranked. Anytime I'm in an ARAM match and I see a silver or low gold I know theyre going to suck major ass either going in for bad trades everytime, not following up, and generally diving when they shouldn't. Atleast if theyre plat they resolve most of those issues and turn semi-reliable. Its funny how I have to carry the ones with pretty borders actually.

???? Probably because they’re playing a fucking champ they never played before? It’s aram holy shit How cross eyed can aram mains get? Pathetic. Play the real game where everyone picks who they wanna play and you’ll prob be placed bronze. If you brag about carrying in aram games you should go back to roblox ty
Lol every time I goof off and build troll shit in aram people get sooooo fucking mad. Like wtf its an aram chill winning them does nothing.
If this is legitimately the problem for you, then there's a severe issue with your gameplay.
Every time I've been in silver on an account, I tend to get out of the division in 20 games or so, and that includes this most recent season.
Perhaps you're simply not trying very hard in the games, or you just don't know how to carry games on your own. In gold, players might be better at aiding the carry whereas in silver they might not have that ability.

my gameplay isn't geared toward playing with these people, i rarely make a new account ive played in p5+ since like season 4 and i'm used to when i try to make a play having support, in silver i do things that are logical and i expect people to as well but they don't, so i've had to dumb myself down and change my playstyle a lot
I'm aware that it was an issue with my playstyle, but even so having a player on your team that always wins lane should be enough to win most games, if you just group on them mid game and take what you need
Keep in mind it's February.
Yeah Silver is terrible. Ranked is just norms + anxiety for me. My allies tend to completely ignore my pings or, like my Jhin yesterday, don't ****ing ping at all.
Had a Taric wack elder in the shnoze with the entire enemy team in their side of the jungle breathing down our necks...like hello? Don't just add damage to our team before arguably the most important teamfight.
The list goes on...I need to just start playing hypercarries...
It's because it's full of feeders, toxic players, etc. Honestly, most games I lose is due to my other lanes (bot lane in particular) feeding early, then they just snowball and I can't do anything about it. Can't wait to get out of this league.
You give me hope good sir or madam. I just hit g5 on Friday and I’m curious as to how far I can go.
I'm actually conspiring with Riot and RNGesus to trap people below gold. Our methods get a little better each season!
