All chat in Ranked - Yay or nay?

You've probably all bore witness to enemy teams that seem to do everything they can to stoke the flames of rage within you and your teammates. Of course, this is ranked, and people will do anything they can to get an edge up on the opposition. However, is something like this meant to be a plausible method of winning games? Targeting the opponent's psyche rather than being a better player?

I can only see one reason to keep it in, and that's on the off-chance that both teams can engage in camaraderie and make the game a truly enjoyable experience. However, how often does that happen in ranked of all modes? Comparatively, normals and featured game modes are friendly environments and safe havens.

Edit: Some people seem to misunderstand. I'm well aware of the mute function, and I'm sure many of you use it as well. However, what about the rest of the team?

In norms and flex, I'm a perfect little angel.

In solo rank, though? Hoo, boy. Not going to lie, and I suspect I'll incur downvotes for this but...

I'll happily do my best to tilt the enemy team. Make a bad play? I'm calling you on it. Your jungler having a bad game? I'll ensure that your entire team knows. It doesn't matter if I feel your jungler did everything they could, and were simply outplayed/didn't get the support they needed -- it only plays to my advantage if the enemy team squabbles with itself and blames a single player. Tilt wins games.

Note well: I have limits. I never insult a player personally. I never drag real life into this. But "?" and "nice smite :)" are par for course for me.

I'm also always, always polite in the post game lobby, and will usually apologize if I've been saltier than usual. "Sorry if I seemed rude. Was hoping to tilt you for the win. You genuinely played it well. gg. :)"

So here's the question: do I think this is healthy?

No, not really. It's not very sportsmanlike. Sign me up for "no [all] in ranked, please".

There's no need for cross-team chat -- all the trash-talking and incredibly rare "hey man, great game!" banter can be done in the post-game chatroom.

I won a game onces as Riven top where I was so useless I just build 40% CDR and Swifties and played the mental game. Split push all game and piss all 5 of them off so that they chase me to the ends of the earth.

(The reason for this was I actually had Jungle and mid in my lane about 7-8 times in 12 min. so i contributed to my team in the only way that I actually could XD)

The only place you need all chat is custom games.

That said, there's an option to shut off all chat. I used it a few years ago and now only relieve it to make snarky comments like, "Shout out to riven, very kind to put League of Legends on Annie's speak-and-spell." It's nothing but a jab; I suppose it could be seen as pretty mean-spirited, but they had a time of loading (probably because client disconnected them right at start :| )

There's nothing that's ever really come of all chat for me.

You could mute if you didn't want to. It does allow for friendly banter, especially at the beginning of the game.
