[Discussion] Making Xerath more mobile: is this necessary or not?

Predatorator··1 votes·516 views

Hello there, and thak You for reading this. This is not a straght-forward-request for buffs, Xerath's situation right now is pretty good as it is. This is more a "what if....." So, after making this clear...What do You guys think about adding a short movespeed buff after casting Arcanopulse (Q) and Rite of the Arcane (R)?? The buff might trigger after he casts his Q. This may encourage some close range action, that might also be more interesting, aswell helping with positioning.

Adding a short movespeed buff after casting his R, might help him to get faster to the fight, and support his teammates.

I don't know, I know Xerath's already in a good spot, but exploring these possiblities might be interesting to me.

Let me know what do You think. Sorry for my bad English, and thank You again for readinh this. See you in the Fields of Justice, Predatorator

I think mobility is not the best thing to give him. He has very long range and great burst/dps potential, mitigated by vulnerability if someone closes. That's a fine way to be. I'd rather buff his strengths than give him something to minimize a weakness.

Yeah, given his range, in good hands he can be really safe. The main reason i came up with these ideas, is that mobility actually creates some cool moments. However, as i said before, he's fine as he is now.

Mobility can create some cool moments, but other kit aspects (huge range, large burst, highly skillshot gameplay, etc) can as well, and I think it's easier to create cool gameplay by accentuating existing aspects of the kit instead of adding new ones that may not be able to get much power. The more things you have, the less each individual thing can do.

Wtf no. They already removed Xerath's meaningful weakness for his range, which was actual immobility. Now you're asking to make him more mobile? That's dumb.

It's not even that exaggerated. It's proven almost everywhere how Xerath is vulnerable to all-ins. However, it was just a "what if...", a discussion about a scenarion like that one. i'm not really asking for these changes to happen!

Good luck getting close enough to all in.

No, it is not necessary. He has plenty of stuff to make up for his (relative) immobility.

Remember, he has also one of the higher MS for a ranged champion with 340.
