First overall pick in the draft?

Is a complete blind pick. I think the first overall pick should be given a chance to counter after all selections have locked. It is the most annoying feature. You are left being forced to lane against the unknown. Say your top lane, you select a tank. The team which has been doing as of late goes adc top, mid, bttm. Well kinda screwed. The range and pokes leaves you pinned. This was a example from experience. Point being can there be a better solution to addressing this? I think it be fair to be allowed to 're select if need be. Anyone see this otherwise?
