One for All Suggestion

If 2 ore more players take the same champion, make it so the system thinks there are only 4 ( or 3 or 2) champions to choose from. I.E. if 2 players choose Rengar, then rengar has a 25% rate of being picked instead of 40% since there are 4 DIFFERENT champions to pick from Or if 3 players chooseAhri, then ahri has a 33% rate of being picked instead of 60%.

This isn't how the math should work. Every person should have a 20% chance to have their pick selected, no exceptions. 100% is split by 5 into 20%, which is where we get the weight of each person's pick. Naturally, groups that pick the same thing should have more chances to get what they want, but I do not believe at all that any number of picks should invalidate a single person's pick weight.

I get what you're saying, but I also don't believe 4man premades should get their way 8 matches out of 10

In the name of fairness, groups that pick the same champion should have more odds to get their way. However, those should be just odds and not absolutes. It's frustrating as hell that because 4 people select the same thing, the 5 person's pick is invalidated.

It's also frustating as hell to see 4 people pick the same thing and knowing already what you are going to play.

That's why no one's vote weight should ever be dropped to 0% because 4 people picked the same thing. 4 people picking the same thing means that's an 80% chance to get that pick, not 100% chance. You should still have a 1/5 chance to get what you pick. It should never be absolute.

Maybe I just can't see the math in my head, can you explain? That is confusing. If two people select Rengar, one selects Poppy, one selects Zac, and the last selects Trundle, and then you give Rengar a 25% chance of success, what values would the others have? 25% each, because that seems pretty bad.

Yes, the others would have 25. This would make it so 4-man premades wouldn't get their way 8 matches out of ten.

It might be a social disconnect between how we view fairness. Generally in the U.S Equality of opportunity is better than equality of outcome. That means that everyone has the chance to vote for what they want, and if 4 people want chicken for dinner but little Timmy wants fish, it shouldn't be a 50:50 coin flip. Everyone had a chance to say what they want, and the outcome will (usually) mirror the majority opinion. Does that make sense? Again, maybe it is a social disconnect, or I may not be seeing something.

Yes, but little Timmy wouldn't be stuck 20 minutes with fish because that's what his family wanted. He would eat his dinner in 5 to 10 minutes and be done.

Well, if you wanna be technical, you don't "have" to be stuck in the game. You can leave if you really want to. just like Timmy could leave the dinner table if he wants to. In my home growing up, leaving the dinner table early was grounds for a grounding.

Yeah but imagine what it would be like if three people selected the same powerful champion and two trollers select different shit champs or ones that most people can't play. Then you end up in a situation where you can easily troll people into either dodging or playing for 20-30 minutes with a shit champion. A bad pick in One for All is way worse than one in standard SR because it affects everyone. Now you're giving more power to people who don't really know what makes a good champion.

But O4A gets EXCEEDINGLY boring when you get stuck with the same cheesy OP picks, and it sucks the fun out of the mode. I cannot tell you how sick I am of seeing these same champions over and over and over again because people only play the mode to win, and not have fun. This was and is why regular URF blows. There's not enough diversity or capability to have fun picks because try-hards just want to play the same shit over and over.
