Riot, why no more Alternate SR Maps?

I don't know if this is the right forum for it. Anyways, lets get right down to it. Maybe someone else can answer my question too:

Riot, what happened to the alternate Summoner's Rift Maps? I personally never got to play on them as I started playing League early 2012, but the concept seemed pretty cool to me. A snow covered SR for winter and Snowdown, an Autumn looking SR for Harrowing that featured Twisted Treeline's music. I know you guys still seem to like the idea considering we had the Bilgewater ARAM map this past summer and everyone seemed to really enjoy it.

Will we ever get to see Summoner's Rift in a different setting again?

If the Maps team is free, I'd much prefer revamping the base maps rather than simply adding map skins. For instance, the current Twisted Treeline turns four this year. It'd be nice to see what the map would look like with Riot's current level of tech/skill. This is especially important if Riot wants to bring back Dominion or Ascension, since the Crystal Scar is almost five years old.
