Gangplank Powder Keg (E) bonus physical damage to champions lowered to 40/50/60/70/80 from 80/110/140/170/200

You have 120 less damage at max rank and considering Gp builds critical chance and IE you lose up to 300 damage! This is too much!

Ok, I agree he is a bit too strong, but the current nerf is totally over the top. A value like 60/85/110/135/160 sounds more acceptable.

EDIT: Seems like I have made a wrong assumpsion and the bonus damage to champions does NOT crit, which makes the nerf not that big. Sorry for misleading you! But still 120 less is a bit too much and should be partially reverted, imo.

Given it's cost, damage, and versatility it needed a heavy nerf.

You can set them up from outside the range of most gap closers, can chunk even the normally poke resistant champs like Nasus if they try to farm or clear a barrel because of the bonus damage and armor pen, cost him nothing, and he can even use them to poke under tower with no retribution with Q detonation.

I would have rather seen his placement range nerfed, or that the bonus applies to chain detonations and not single barrel detonations or something rather than a nerf to the bonus damage and armor pen

What? No, I doubt you'd be losing 300 damage on a crit. The barrel's bonus damage against champions is probably a flat amount added after the auto-attack/Q's damage.

I think you will only loose 120 physical at max rank(because its added on top of what you crit), which is substantial, but it wont be that which will kill him from seeing Pro plays, but actually the 0.25 delay they have already introduced between barrels to stop him from triple barreling.

ehhh it does shit on tankplanks barrels and gp's early-mid damage a bit but his lategames more or less the same, whats annoying is how theyre encouraging a champ to almost become a farm bot. One thing thats really irritating is the delay on his barrels though, id rather have that gone

Am I the only one here fine with this?. The barrels could half shot+ anyone mid to late game. This is the real nerf he needs not the -10% armor pen.

not to mention he has 50% armor pen on his barrels, id say its pretty fair. Clearly you havent had a gp one hit your entire team.

While I agree that this nerf isn't the right option I can see that his barrels do need a change. The nerf I'd like to see is a small reduction to the range you can place them. This would really accentuate the counterplay of killing or just not standing on his barrels. The damage is justified if it's actually hard to do. Right now it's not that hard.

because riot dont want one trick champions to succeed at their objectives effectively, they dont want ad meeles to sucked ( ad assassins or fighters ) competitive , they nerf them after few weeks or one month, but for apcs or adcs is a different story even with good results they nerf them after months

I'm not happy with the change, but it's still PBE. I'm sure Rito won't let a weak GP go live. If (beta) testing proves the nerfs are too harsh it will be reverted.

It would be bad if it didnt ignore 60%(I think) of armor. Also its on PBE, value might be tuned up before it is ready for live.

you are talking about 160 dmg when his barrels are currently critting with a few items for close to 1000 aoe...if not more. and it ignores armor. so it shreds everyone including tanks. this nerf imo is fine. they kept the armor pen close to where its at and justified that by weaking the base bonus damage. it is not too harsh.

reminds me of that huge sivir q nerf right after they reworked her (Damage changed to 25 / 45 / 65 / 85 / 105 from 60 / 105 / 150 / 195 / 240).
