Proposed Change To Janna's Passive
Janna passively gains 8% bonus movement speed and grants the same amount to nearby allied champions moving towards her, within 1250 units. Janna's basic attacks and Zephyr deal bonus on-hit magic damage equal to 25% / 35% of her bonus movement speed.
That's Janna's current passive.
Being an Enchanter, one of her last priorities is damage, but that's what this passive does, gives bonus damage that she doesn't need. I myself am a Janna main, and it's rare that I build any movement speed items outside of Ardent Censor and Boots. On rare occasions when my team is ahead, I might, and that's a strong might, build Shurelya's Reverie. More often than not, I find the passive bonus damage barely reaches higher than 70, with an extra 70 bonus magic damage being quite useless to her overall.
Secondly, the bonus 8% movement speed to all allies that move towards her, while a nice bonus, is really only really used when walking to lane. It's at its most effective when she's on the frontlines leading the team, which is good and all, but being a long ranged, squishy champion, and also an Enchanter, is essentially a death sentence for her, making her far more easier to catch and kill, even more so in the current damage heavy environment as of late.
My proposed change is simple.
Janna passively gains 8% bonus movement speed and grants 5% bonus movement speed to nearby allied champions within 1250 units of her. Additionally, Janna gains bonus heal and shield power equal to 10%/20% of her bonus movement speed.
With the average base movement speed of champions being either 325 or 335, that's only +16.5 movement speed, not enough to be abused in lane, but just enough to still feel present and effective. I rounded for the number, the exact bonus would be 16.25 for those with 325 base ms, and 16.75 for those with 335 base ms.
Like I stated before, Janna is an Enchanter, damage is not important on her, and, on a side note, if people wanted to play poke/damage support, there is always Zyra, Morgana, Karma, Pyke, and like 2 more I'm probably forgetting. With my proposed change, it opens up new build paths for her, without her having to sacrifice as much as she does with the way her passive currently works. One of the biggest reason Enchanters are viewed as boring, from my perspective, is that you essentially use the same item build every single game, occasionally switching up one item depending on how well your team is doing. With these changes, she can now safely try different builds, instead of going Redemption, Ardent, LoTS, every game. Also, it's safer for her, not forcing her unto the frontlines to get the full effect of her passive, and of more use to her than her current passive.
