Flex Queue = New Ranked?

I get that it's preseason, but last year Ranked still existed in preseason. Seems Flex queue is it's own placements and everything. I haven't played 10 placements yet but is this essentially the new ranked queue until season 7?

I see that 4 man queues are currently disabled, will there eventually be 2 separate flex queues?

They want people to play flex so that when the season starts people will be spread out and not all in silver/bronze. Solo/duo will be out in season 7 to.

Hmm seems odd then. I don't really get it but I guess it's the only option available to play so that's what I'll do.
