Autofill is counter-intuitive

The goal of the autofill function is to decrease the amount of time you spend in queue. However, the penalty for dodging a game is incredibly minor. You lose a small amount of LP while maintaining the same MMR, you do not have to play an undesired role, and you simply need to wait a short period before queuing up again (highly preferred then having to play through a game you don't want to play). You are also guaranteed one of your preferred roles the next time you queue.

I think the whole concept of autofill needs to be looked at, because I do not believe it is fulfilling its intended purpose. I would believe the majority of people would prefer to have slighly longer queue times than have to constantly be put in games where people dodge or troll their team because they got autofilled into a role they hate.

If there are roles with a low number of people queuing, ie. support, perhaps providing incentives would get more people playing those roles, such as significant IP boots, better chance of receiving a chest/key fragment, skins for play a certain role x number of times, whatever you think will help people play roles they WANT to play, rather than FORCING roles on them.

Creating positive experiences for players generally helps move things in the right direction, rather than forcing people to do something they do not want to do.

Whenever it tells me Auto-fill is enabled, I just log out.

Plenty of other games just as good, if not better to occupy my time.

These posts whining about auto fill are counter-productive. It's been this way forever and will always be this way until the player base expands their horizons. The incentive from playing support is faster que times. No need for anything more you piles of spoiled and entitled little boys and girls.

You want people dedicated to the role, not to getting a reward for simply playing a role they'd rather not touch otherwise. Support mains exist for a reason. They're unfortunately a minority, but they play the role well.

No incentive makes support be any more fun from a gameplay standpoint. They have to redesign how support plays to fix the issue. Start at lvl 18 with 6 items and people would fight over support lol.

They have auto fill in soloq so they can say 'no auto fill in solo queing in flex queue' as an incentive over there.

Sometimes, your team could work a compromise, and switch roles around. There are good people playing and asking politely may get your desired role.

No guarantee, but it does happen.
