QSS cancels Malzahar's ult completely now?

I was under the impression that qss used to break the suppression part of Malzahars ult, but the damaging channel continued, just like WW ult. Did this feature get removed for both champions after their reworks?

EDIT: What seems to be a bug also, if Malzahar uls a target with Black Shield on them, nothing happens but the Ult goes on CD.

Yeah, since the tether does damage now it should remain active, before the revert it would make sense that he would lose the tether since it would 0 damage on its own but now (like pre-rework) the suppression should go away while the tether should remain active and do damage until the target moves out of range.

The lazergrip part of Malz ult actually doesn't do damage, the black ooze pool that is placed beneath the target actually does all of the damage, as an AoE.

So, if QSS makes that pool vanish, then yeah it's stopping the damage. I don't think this is the case, but I haven't paid close enough attention.

The revert gave back damage to Malzahar's tether now, so it shouldn't go away.

They changed that this patch.

Please read the patch notes.

Ahh, I double checked the client skill description

They need to do a better job of keeping that up do date then :)

They've never updated the client regularly and if you've been here for any fair amount of time it should be ingrained in you to read the patch notes.

They can QSS the suppresion and walk out of the pool, but they still take tether damage now. Which was MUCH needed for Malz to be viable at all.

Go in a game and test it, right now, if someone uses qss during malz ult, EVERYTHING gets canceled.

I think you're right. I just played a game against a MF who got one and she was canceling all my damage with it. Total bullshit for sure.

Maybe this should go in the report a bug section, but Riot should definetely be aware of the problem because that was one of old Malz's main problems of unviability.
