Why was Clairovoyance/Clarity removed from classic queue?

Why?

Edit: Now i think, With Riot going against mana and removing mana potions, I can see why summoner 13 got removed too. And the item 3363 is probably why {{summoner:2}} got removed.

No one really used either of them, and Riot has this grudge against mana according to this last patch lol. So thats where that went! Down the shitter!

{{summoner:2}} was a very strong skill back in its day. The old days of Season 1 and some of Season 2 when gold generation was incredibly limited, and vision was a joke compared to what it is now. No one who joins today will have any idea how hard it was to play and main the support role. {{summoner:2}} was used often because it lit up sections of the map and was completely global, and at a reasonable cooldown to be used frequently. With trinkets and the introduction of item 3363 (once the Scrying Orb), this at an even lower cooldown although not completely global, and warding being effectively cheaper and more commonplace, {{summoner:2}} has just become obsolete with other more offensive or utility spells such as summoner 3 or summoner 14 .

As for summoner 13 , it's an incredibly weak summoner spell that can't really replace summoner 7 ,summoner 4 ,summoner 14 ,summoner 21 , or summoner 12 in any lane, and mages, who generally have blue buff and have mana regeneration means, would never take it. I've seen it used in ARAMs and in low level games, but it really doesn't give the same value that other spells have.

I hope this clears up your question.

I swear to god Galio needed summoner 13, Playing Bard support with summoner 13 was pretty nice to especially if your ADC needed it too, But i guess wasn't really needed, It just helped your ADC and gave you a reason to not roam for chimes but was very use full early game, And Riot went against mana and removed mana potions, So i understand the removal of summoner 13 . I'd take{{summoner:2}} on Ezreal to scout out blue buffs, Look for enemies to snipe, And get vision on Dragon/Baron (Ezreal is the only champion i play with a global ult, I don't know how good it would be on Jinx Ashe Draven ), But with the new item 3363 Which is better for vision of blue buffs and Dragon/Baron i can see {{summoner:2}} getting removed.

No one "needs" summoner 13. It's honestly a dependency summoner, a crutch that keeps you from using better spells. It's also just worthless past level 9-10 as mana pools will be large enough to render it irrelevant, and if you're trying to use it for your ADC, you lack an understanding of how they clearly work. As for the removal of mana potions, summoner 13 has nothing to do with that. As I stated, it's a dead spell. Why you would take {{summoner:2}} on Ezreal...Ezreal can use his ult to scout baron and dragon, and the CDR from his Q means he'll get it back very quickly.

I'm not saying you COULDN'T bring {{summoner:2}} on a champion, but you're giving up so much power and needed utility on an already squishy champion, and you're sure to see your laning opponents bringing powerful spells like summoner 7 or summoner 21 which can be used to bait, outplay, or overall save and turn fights around.

When i play Ezreal, I love playing with my ult, I sacrifice summoner 4 for {{summoner:2}} simply because back when i did this i was pretty new to Ezreal and when i played him i would always forget to use flash because of my E, it happend so much i just got rid of summoner 4 for {{summoner:2}} for the fun of it.

You can't expect the vast majority of the player base to do the same, however. And I'm not talking about just NA. Europe, China, Korea, Brazil, Turkey, etc., almost NO ONE doesn't take summoner 4 unless they are trolling or screwing around with friends, and even games in those numbers are virtually nothing in comparison.

I'm merely explaining my answer to your question as to why these two spells were removed. They are essentially dead spells because they don't serve a purpose within the current state of the game.

taking summoner 13 just let me know that you were horrible at LoL and i should dodge. It was a great warning sign.

I found clarity to be pretty darn helpful on Zilean mid, because if he uses mana "conservatively" he just gets perma shoved under tower and you can at least bomb people without worrying so much.

With the removal of mana potions, taking out clarity was a stupid, stupid thing to do. It's like they removed it not because it was useless, but because they knew people would start using it, and they couldn't have that.
