Where's the consistency, Riot ?

Before you waste your time reading : This is a Aatrox thread.

@Meddler "Yep. The mid-season changes to Swain were very much a case of 'we know this guy needs big changes, but those are a long way off so here are some things we think are worth exploring in the meantime'."

To all "Aatrox needs a rework" fans : No, he just needs what Meddler said here. Some things that they think are worth exploring UNTIL those big changes are coming. With his current playrate and winrate, he is basically inexistent.

Meanwhile, yet again we're witnessing Riot's inconsistency. They change perfectly playable champions in their updates (Shen/Velkoz etc.), but don't wanna EVEN touch many toxic/outdated kits.

Currently, Aatrox sits at a 0,66% playrate with a 47% winrate. And everytime you spell "What about Aatrox", you always get the same reply : "He needs a rework". Guess what ? From what i've seen lately that could mean 2-3 years of frustration for those 0,66% players. Why can't you apply the same treatment to Aatrox as you did with Swain ?

I think the operational words here are "we think are worth exploring in the meantime"

Similar contexts between Aatrox and Swain from your point of view, but Swain seems just that much more salvageable in the short term.

You do realise that Riot is several thousand people, and about ~100+ of which would be directly involved with champ programming. So if they all were in agreement 100% of the time, which is what is necessary to not be called inconsistent, then that would be frightening indeed.

They are not a hive mind. So inconsistencies are to be expected. And since nearly every part of his kit I have heard people call for change, well, that is hardly the same as Swain, whose laserbeam bird was changed to affect an area instead of tethering to one person, and he was given more birds to throw during his ult.
