Mastery system is ... working really strange

Hello there fellas !

I would like to share my experiences with the mastery system . It's working kind of strangely , at least I think .

I have done lots of games , but lately I noticed something really strange . I play top lane mostly and sporadicly jungle and support . Let's get to the point : I have done a game where i was brain afk splitpushing , went 4/4/4 and 299 cs at 33mins ( i was toplane ) , and got a S- . And right after that one i've done another one , where i went 17/6/15 and 136cs at 43mins ( i was jungling this game ) .

Do you see what i see ? Is the mastery system promoting afk farming instead of teamplay ? Or is it just me ?

It's made with the thought that, a TON more times than people are able to see, you can help your team without getting hardly any kills OR assists.

yes.

actually sad that you can go 60/2/38 and carry every Teamfight with 180 Farm and max get A+.

It's also possible to go 60/2/38 but lose the game because you didn't do anything with that advantage. KDA alone doesn't tell if you played well or not.

i know, but a player with such a KDA usually indicates that he did contribute much more to the team than a guy who has 300 Farm and 5/3/11 and was afk farming most of the time.

And guess who usually gets the S and who the A is such a scenario.

I agree that farm is over valued by the system but it is also very undervalued by most players. A game that I have 300 farm with 4/4/8 is a better game than where I only have 100 farm but am 12/4/6

It's not that it's promoting afk farming. It's just that a huge part of the math going into it is how much gold you get in a certain time in a game.

You forgot to mention your grade as jungler. But yeah, farming is heavily favoured.

If you can avoid dying, you can be as useless as you want to be, as long as you're actively farming, you'll get great scores.

It's not always by the cs tho, prolly not many ppl did much better than you that game. I got almost 400 cs in one game and no S wihle 2 others got the S's.
