I just want this game to be fun again

It's nearly impossible for me to have fun with League anymore. I used to be able to play for hours on end nonstop all day, now I struggle to even queue up anymore. There's just too much damage, game is way too snowbally. Games are decided within the first 5 minutes and its so fucking agitating.

Oh, bot lane got double killed, guess that's gg. Why is this okay???? Can a red actually respond and say they are honestly happy with the state of this game? It makes me sick that Riot chooses LC$ over the community that built this game.

Without us you're nothing, it's time to get your priorities straight. Everyday you're losing players and streamers to this bullshit. I get that this game is never going to be completely "balanced", but this is just a joke and an insult to every player at this point.

Fix this, or watch your money maker die.

No game in history has ever recovered from the downward spiral of staleness. LoL is in a spot where its just a matter of time before the next ground breaking game steals all of its players. Were ALL waiting to get out of here.

You can't. Riot's focus on LCS has made fun no longer their priority. They don't care about fun, they care about twitch viewers.

Live design team needs changes. Past 3 years Ghostcrawler, Meddler and Reperoir and many others behind the screen have had more than enough time and chances to deliver. After 3 years its fair to say they failed and need to go to make place for others.

Is it the game or you though ? I love this game and have been playing it for years and it never gets old. I do feel there is far too much ego in this game would by my one complaint.

It's time for classic servers.

And when they have too much catch up XP, or too much gold for shutdowns, the people ACTUALLY PLAYING WELL and with a lead feel that the result is pure RNG. This is a strategy game and in the end, bad early decisions have consequences. It's just like if you drop a piece in chess. You don't blame the game for how unfair it is that your opponent is much stronger and you can't create any real pressure down a piece. Sometimes you manage to win anyway but most of the time, you accept the consequences of your mistakes and move on to the next game.

I think this game is harder to carry than in past seasons overall. Players got better and the team element matters more. They've already put some brakes on good players solo carrying and that feels really bad for those players. It feels like they're being punished for being good at the game. If a game like this is snowbally, it's often exactly because the skill element and results are correlated. If the games were close even when one team feeds kills randomly and misses large waves etc., this game would be shit. It would have minimal agency and it would be silly to even attempt to be good at it. A lot of the comebacks you crave from before were due to players just being bad at the game and not knowing how to end or what to do to press their lead. Back to the question of whether it's too snowbally... idk. I do remember when catch up XP was overtuned though and it felt awful to jungle because it seemed that your role didn't even matter in terms of the opposing matchup. There has to be a balance somewhere but as much as I hate getting snowballed against, I also want to feel like I can carry or why even bother improving?

BTW: Idk how S5 was but I did quite like it. DQ in S6 made me basically abandon the game since serious players who cared about competitive integrity and a balanced ranked system were basically ignored. Now, I think it's OK but I do sort of feel that early game matters more than usual... part of it is related to team comps. too. Assassins are great at snowballing.

yea the game snowball too much

Every game will fall eventually or get one bad downside just like Lol has now.

Game is a total mess and nothing is balanced. Champions that couldn't even 1v1, now they can burst anyone. Jax is broken, janna is broken, lulu is broken, Kai'sa is broken, Zed with duskblade is broken, Ahri is broken, Ezreal is still somewhat broken, Cait is again broken, Soraka is broken, everything is too much broken and champs like Udyr, amumu can't do shit to this meta.

Riot knows they're broken, but hey let's leave them be! We gonna get more money!

I'll just leave this here......If you guys don't think it's dying, well, you might want to look at this.

I never like to surrender, but more recently I've found myself actually clicking yes to the surrender vote. The game is severely imbalanced and the games move too quickly.

Riot needs to stop playing favorites and balance everyone. It's not even fun to watch a pro game where literally one mistake, just one, decides the entire game. Everyone loves a comeback and Riot keeps killing the chances of one off.

Not to mention the game is so serious now, with such meta builds, roles, and all of these mana nerfs. No one wants to play a champion that is only useful for a few seconds of a fight.

I'm just glad someone posted this. I'm not really having much fun, and I know it's not because I've been playing for too long. I've only played for 6-7 months and the game feels like shit compared to even last season. Oh well.

VelvetCrotch4/25/2018, 5:05:45 PM1 votes

they should nerf adc's and rework the supp role. beside that league should get rid of ultimates which are point-and-click. ah! and completely overhaul this: item 3147

Edit: and when old champs like nunu, veigar, akali, trynd etc are reworked i am 100% sure, league will be more fun. atm too many old champs are too strong.

xelaker4/24/2018, 3:46:39 PM1 votes

it won't die out, they advertise like mad and get newbies faster then all the oldie addicts quit out. For every vocal quitter I'm sure they get just as many new peeps.

Power Cosmic4/24/2018, 7:13:13 PM1 votes

The game needs new/better late game scaling carries.

The only good "assassins" are ( Elise LeeSin Pantheon ) early game bursters who level off and aren't just ult cheesers.

I just played against a tahm kench top, he slowed me with his auto attack, attack me another 2 times stunned me, ate me, attack me 3 times again and stunned me again. That 100% did it for me, this new rune system destroyed this game for me, its just too drastic of a change for me after playing so many years with the old system, its a whole different game.

They should bring back dominion and actually balance it and ban the bots, the pace of this game is like crawling through tar compared to fn or ow.

Athenes Lulu4/24/2018, 11:39:23 PM1 votes

im just a no name in gold that wants "skill expression" in enchanters again

back when timing shields and making decisive plays were sorta necessary instead of blindly stacking heal/shield power for free wins

SnugglePuggle944/25/2018, 12:11:40 AM1 votes

Totally agree. Ever since the incorporation of Runes Reforged, the game I love has constantly gone downhill. Like seriously I would take crappy Dynamic Que over this stuff, that's how bad I want things to go back to normal.

DestructoDave4/25/2018, 12:34:19 AM1 votes

The game is just old. I'm an old enough gamer I've saw games come and go. League is just an old game, and you guys have been playing it too long. Burnout is real.

They constantly do what they can to breathe life into League, the same as say, Blizzard does WoW. But you can only breathe life into something so much. Nothing can really ever erase that staleness. Thats why after the new of an expansion in WoW wears off, you are reminded of the 13 year old gameplay being exactly the same.

Its a miracle some of you have played this long, this hard. You need breaks. I've never understood this notion of continuing to play something if you are no longer having fun playing it. Stop bitching about it because you no longer can get the same kind of enjoyment out of it. That has nothing to do with the game. There is no changes that are going to fix that. Find another game, take a break. I guarantee League will be fun again when you come back. Even WoW is incredibly fun for 3 months of every expansion, and then it just settles back into the same shit you did for over a decade. Nothing can fix that permanently. Not in League, either.

I don't subject myself to torture. If I'm no longer having fun in something, I go do something else.

Now try to play antimeta games is like said "please stomp me in 15 minutes I'm ready" sad...

The problem behind statements like this: The shift in playerbase. I learned a simple lesson in school: I was with the guys that liked Pokémon back in the 90s and there were the Power Ranger kids. You will always be liked by some and hated by others. Another example from GTA2: If you kill the Yakuza, the Loonies will like you. Now back to topic: If you change the game, you will lose old-school players, but you will attract new ones.

Look, I am here since early 2010 (I feel like I typed that very often in the past), even onwing the physical DVD copy from our local drug store. I've almost seen anything. And the game made me quit last winter. I had a 4months break but I felt like playing Ashe, Thresh and Bard again, I like these characters and they are fun. Now I restrict myself to very few games and this forum account is being used by my brother that sucks ass (check the history with Rengar... this will be banned soon I guess). So I quitted because of the terrible matchmaking in normals and the new runes (together with Zoe). My cousin however quitted before and CAME BACK DUE to the runes. I think he's Diamond or something. He likes the speed and button mashing. Sinatra said: "You can't have one without the other". You will always have fans and haters. If you remove the runes for example, you'd lose my cousin, but bring me back.

So saying it's dying is utter stupid.

I find all these declarations of "without us you're nothing" entertaining. I understand people who make these statements are fustrated. Even so, counting the OP, some of their friends, and 66 peeps who upvoted this post are a miniscule part of the activre layer base population.

How miniscule?

Let's take the last known number (at least the # I know) of active players (27 million) in NA. I'll even spot you 134 extra people that agree with you. 200/27,000,000 is ~ 7.407407407-E6 or 0.000007407407407%.

And if I spot you a million players who agree, that's still only ~3% of the NA player base.

I am not trying to troll you, I am sheding perspective on why posters should consider not making all inclusive statements like

"Without us you're nothing".

I personally have a lot of fun playing this game. When the meta changes I look to change and adjust with it, which I like. It's a contact struggle to understand the current meta and adjust.

It's the same thing I like about Chess. Except the difference there is that you can get away not playing the Meta Openings.

For example as black I love to play the Caro-Kann. I know most of the main varations so well that I can sometimes transpose the mid games from the opening we began with into a middle game I'm very familiar with via the Caro-Kann.

If you want stagnant game play where the game doesn't change why aren't you playing a platformer type game?
