The Changes I Believe Taliyah Needs
These are all my opinions/peeves with my favorite stone weaver. These are some of the changes I think could make Taliyah a bit better. I want to adjust her passive and her Q.
Passive:
- Problem: The biggest complaint I see is that she has no combat passive.
- Possible Solution: Along side Rock Surfing I want to add a combat part to her passive. Add that when she auto attacks close to any terrain her autos then do extra damage.
- Reasoning: It will give her a type of combat passive that makes sense with her lore and will work well her current rock surfing. It will add a little extra complexity to her kit but I believe it could be a nice change.
Threaded Volley (Q):
- Problem: My main problem is how it refunds mana on Worked Ground. It will on only cast if Taliyah has the Full amount of mana to cast a full 5 stone volley, as if she is Not on Worked Ground. If the player is on Worked Ground then that should be the condition to be met to Cast the ability with only half the mana. Or it could work another way. I will provide both possible solutions.
- Possible Solution #1: Lets says Q is at rank 1 and cost 50 mana for these examples. If Taliyah is NOT on Worked Ground then casting Q will cost the full 50 mana ( If Taliyah has the 50 mana available ). If Taliyah IS on Worked Ground then casting Q will cost half, 25 mana. If Taliyah has a minimum of 25 mana then she can cast a Worked Ground Q to throw 1 stone. She does NOT need 50 mana to have it only cost 25 mana in the end.
- Possible Solution #2: Think of the Worked Ground Q to be similar to an Annie or Vel'koz Q. If Taliyah IS on Worked Ground she needs 50 mana to cast Q. If it kills a minion/monster/champion then half the cost is refunded, or the full amount could be refunded. I will that to the balance team. Otherwise it will cost the full 50 mana.
I am more in favor with solution 1 though :)
- Reasoning: Throwing 1 stone already does very little for Taliyah and the fact I need to have double the mana just the cast it regardless of any special cases needed is rather poor design in my opinion. I already made the Worked Ground. I should need double the mana to throw 1 stone. Or could give me 2 or 3 stones to throw. Solution #3 maybe?
Sorry for the long thread but I hope this makes sense to a lot of you. These solutions are not perfect but I think it could be a nice step in a direction for a better Taliyah. She is my favorite champion but I think those parts could make her better and makes sense in my eyes. Rather than just number buffs.
