Illaoi is fed at 0/4

Ok, I almost never use the LOL Board but this is seriously like wtf. I was playing against an Illaoi that was 0/4 as Darius with 3/1 KDA. So I went to fight the 1v1 and she ults and the next thing I know I have 3 tentacles slapping me non stop until I died 1 second later. Zoe got nerfed pretty hard and i agree with it... But do something about this Illaoi thing cause she just can't get set back.

I can't help but feel like you misplayed incredibly hard and aren't telling us.

If she ults, nothing is actually keeping you there fighting her except yourself. Lol. If it was 1v1 as you said and you lost, that's completely on you. Just walk away next time.

Disengage when Illaoi ults.

Illaoi is perhaps one of the most balanced champions in the game, while having a lot of real counterplay compared to other champions.

Illaoi is vulnerable to being kited to death, she is all skill shots basically and are very easy to miss (if you dodge them). She is vulnerable to CC. She is also a mana-gated, immobile melee champion that has no CC except for a useless slow on her E vessel.

If she manages to pull out your spirit with her E, fight back. Fighting back for your spirit won't allow you to become a vessel. If she ends up ulting when you fight back, disengage - as it is a good way to bait her ult out.

Illaoi is designed to never lose 1v1 to a Melee champion. Even if you have multiple items on her it's going to be extremely difficult to bring her down in a straight up fight. If you want to win you are required to poke her down, then kill her spawned tentacles, and fight her when she's low health so that her ultimate can't out heal your damage. Illaoi is very strong but she also has a lot of weaknesses, if you are Darius it's going to be really hard to beat her unless you have multiple levels and items on her before you fight her.

Kills don't mean anything, you need items that's what is important. League of Legends is about power spikes, and most champions hit big power spikes at certain levels with an item.

? Get an executioners OR kill the tentacles cause she's only useful when she has her tentacles around.

That's actually you're fault for not doing that.

I'm really surprised you died with the buffed darius lol.

she has no ways of keeping you fighting her, so i just wait til she ults, nope myself outta there and then fight her when i know she can't use it without her ult she won't win a fight

i think that's all there is to her

As exactly it should be. Don't call to nerf one of my toplane mains because you screwed up and didn't respect her ult.

You play one of the dirtiest toplaners in existence when it comes to pure snowballing, hooking a single kill and then bullying people out of lane. I'm sure you thought you should have a free win because you were 3/1 and your opponent had a 0/4, which is kind of indicative of the mindset of a lot of Darius mains - get a few easy kills, GG EZ, right? I can't count the number of times I've been tempted to complain about how hard Darius snowballs off even a single good hook - but never have - he's even been buffed. And apparently that was a good call because his players still need it.

So no, don't nerf Illaoi. You want to beat her - respect her, and outplay her, and understand how the positioning on her ult works, the same way people have to respect your own hooks and ults.

I was watching shiphter the other day and the Illaoi on his team 1v4'd at like 35 minutes. Got a quad and the enemy team 5-0 surrendered... Even if she was pretty fed, she shouldnt be able to blow up a whole team at once. That is nuts.

Her E ability hitbox needs to be looked at.

I hate illaoi and her design as well and i dont think its really balancable, but it really is your fault for thinking her optimal situation is still winable just because you have a few kills.

If she lands her E and R, you arent supposed to be able to fight her. Learn from this and play around it.

You go in, she ultis, you go out, then go in again or let her back and miss minions. Ez Pz

PopcornBunni3/5/2018, 4:44:41 AM1 votes

Have you tried walking away from her tentacles?

I mean, I end up in this situation a ton as an Illaoi player. People are my elo (silver) think that KDA is the only thing that matters. They completely forget that CS is a thing, and something that I rarely stay tied at let alone lose to my lane opponent. And I'm running Klepto so gold wise I am usually always ahead of my opponents. Kills really only matter in lane phase when you use them to deny CS by pushing the tower after. If I die and miss 6CS, that doesn't add up if you miss 10 in lane because I have you under tower. That stuff adds up so KDA isn't always the best indicator of who is really in the lead.
