The reason Autofill does not work (rational arguement)

Generally to climb Elo, someone specializes in certain roles, Either Top, mid, or jg, bot. etc. the combinations can go on for quite some time.

When starting out in league you only have two rune pages. To buy more you either have to buy riot points, which riot claims its not a buy to win game, but you also have I.P as well. Rune pages cost way too much to even want to invest in.

Rune pages are what genuinely help that certain role to excell in.

So say a Mid/Top laner specializes in these two roles. he has a created rune page for each lane. However when autofill hit the person, they do not have the runes to go to that lane. This is why autofill is such an annoyance to a lot of the lower elo class. Were not here to actually make it somewhere in the game, were here to have fun, and being autofilled is never fun, either is having incorrect rune pages.

Either supply us with 5 rune pages for free so each one can be specific for each lane. or get rid of autofill. its unfair to only have 2, when expected to play 5 lanes.

Thanks

TL;DR Too many lanes, not enough Rune pages. Not fun, Getting Reported for being bad in a lane you never invest time in essentially

so whats the argument when all the runes are gonna be free ?

and counter point

for most champs you can get by with a basic AD page and a basic AP page

having to fill roles was happening prior to autofill ( season 6) back when we use PICK ORDER and honored that system that usually the last pick/ or last two picks on each side were force to fill roles that havent been selected

... So did people just not climb when we didn't have this role select in draft?

Since rune pages are going to be changable in champion select with the rune rework, this problem is going to be solved. However, I would still very much like an option to turn auto fill off and then suffer the longer que times. I would rather wait 10 minutes and get a role I want, versus 2 minutes and I get support.

Do you remember playing draft back before we had this system, and we all had to call our roles in champ select? Good times, good times.
