Warlord's Bloodlust Needs a Rework

Warlord's Bloodlust is a strong Keystone, it's hard to deny that. It's VERY strong. That's the problem with its current state, though; it's too strong and there's not much reason to pick Fervor for Battle instead on most champions.

I think it needs a rework to bring it more in line with Fervor rather than trying to bring Fervor in line with it.

My proposed rework: Warlord's Bloodlust With each attack, the user becomes more bloodthirsty, seeming to heal their own wounds with their enemies'. Each auto-attack against an enemy Champion adds a stack of Warlord's Bloodlust, up to 10. For each stack, the user gains [0.5]% - [1.5]% (1 - 16) Lifesteal, up to [5]% - [15]% (1 - 16) with 10 stacks. Stacks last 6 seconds, and melee attacks generate 2 stacks. (Numbers can be adjusted for balance, but this is what I thought would be balanced.)

This is basically Fervor of Battle with Lifesteal instead of bonus AD, but I feel like it's a necessary change. Fervor and Warlord's fill the same slot: Buff autoattackers in sustained long-duration fights. This change would promote choosing between higher damage or higher sustain.

Edit:

  • Minor fix in the main post. 10 stacks of Lifesteal should have read [5%] - [15%], not [5%] - [1.5%].

Warlord's is literally only good on ADC's or Yasuo when he needs sustain early over damage. Literally no other champions use this keystone, and the reason why ADC's take Warlord's mainly is because their role right now it to just survive the early game, having damage is only necessary for them to have later with items.

ahem, if you could, can you make it a jungle keystone again? k thanks.

The thing is, I don't understand why there isn't a different activation requirement between Warlord's and Fervor. Because they both operate the same way (through auto-attacks) it means that whichever ends up being more busted is the one that's going to be picked every game. There needs to be a unique condition so that it fulfills a more unique role in the mastery tree.

Warlord scales with missing health it's not a flat lifesteal stat .... What's your problem here ? And fervour is anyways harder to stack for ranged champs then y use it

I have a few Ideas I can toss around

Warlord's Bravado - Playing your characters FULL taunt animation while within 700 units of an enemy grants you 5 Bravado (Max 50), damaging an enemy with a physical damaging ability consumes all stacks and heals you for a percentage of the damage done based on the stacks (1% per 1 Bravado)

Warlord's Bloodlust - Dealing physical damage to an enemy grants you Bloodlust stacks, 1 stack per AA, 2 per ability hit (doesn't count DoT) for every stack of Bloodlust you heal for a % of the Physical damage you deal to enemies. (again, not counting DoT) Not dealing physical damage to an enemy champion within 3 second causes you to lose all stacks. 1.5% healing per stack, max 20 stacks.

Warlord's Edge - Causes 12 % of your bonus AD to add to your lifesteal (100 bonus AD = 12% Lifesteal)

No, you're wrong. Your fix is bad too. If anything it needs buffs.

Just give warlord's bloodlust omnivamp instead, and allow everyone to benefit off of it.

Interesting idea. Well thought out and explained. Though I disagree about it negating fervor as a valid option. For adc's maybe -- but even there I always thought it was basically a tossup of if you planned to build an early lifesteal item and/or if you have a healer/shield support or not. I don't main adc though, so I could be totally wrong about adc's having valid opportunity to pick fervor over warlord's -- thus why I say "maybe" in regards to adc's.

Jesus Christ, misread warlord's as Warwick, and was confused the entire post
