Runes in Diamond

Recently hit diamond on this account and am using tier 2 runes. Wondering how much effect actually buying runes will have on my diamond account? This isn't my main, currently hovering between master and D1, but personally i don't think they really matter to much in low diamond, but my winrate has been dropping ever since I got this smurf into diamond so wondering if I can attribute that to my play, possibly worse teams, or lack of runes.

EDIT: not trying to sound like a dbag saying I hit diamond without runes (although I'm sure many many people have who are a lot better than me. this is not me trying to brag in a post). Seriously wondering how much effect they have on play in medium elo games.

I can't imagine you get complete and utter retards I get game after game in Silver/Bronze in a high elo like Master....so yea, its your runes.

Well as someone that did a bunch of smurfs, yeah it kinda influences laning phase and your ability to snowball. The difference isn't negligible ; it should be very hard to reach masters with tier 2.

yeah this is only like my second smurf so not sure how much impact they have. I mean I know based on damage calculations and stuff but besides that haven't had too much experience without t1 runes. Thanks a lot for the feedback.
