Is it actually possible to play Riven without knowing how to animation cancel properly?
With all the complaining I see about her, I feel like she's astronomically hard to play without BoxBox level mechanics.

Well you don't really need to Q cancel, but there are a few animation cancels that can help you win trades like E+R cancels your R animation.
Majority of the people complaining about Riven are being curbed by a Riven who ani-cancels properly then go on to say shes broken etc etc. I take most Riven complaints with a grain of salt since Riven is in a pretty bad spot if you arent Boxbox, Dekar, BRNA, Adrian level.
just smash all your buttons it will cancel the animations
It delays her burst, so the other person can actually fight back - Koreans and someone like this Adrian guy can delete you in a 0.25 - 0.5 seconds time window. Do you think that this is balanced? Animation cancelling makes her damage faster, you still do the same dmg even if you can't combo her like a Riven main.
