It depends on what level you're playing at. As long as you have as much as your opponents you are fine, but learning to CS really well and getting a big CS lead on the enemy can be the key to getting fed and winning games.

Short answer: Equal to or greater than the enemy laners.

To rephrase, you're asking what an acceptable amount of CS is to be in a teamfight? There is no answer to that, there's never an acceptable or standard number.

For example, you could be 78cs while being 9/1/0 on Katarina and you'll impact the team fight as much as a 178cs kat with 0/1/0 on the board - though for the record, that should never happen on Kat.

By equal measure, a 0/10/0 Lulu will effect a team fight a lot more than a 20/0/0 Yorick will, just because of her kit being so overwhelmingly supportive of her team members.

CS is important for getting gold. The gold you get lets you build items quicker. Items generally help you win team fights.

In a 10 minute custom solo match (no bots) you can kill about 101 creeps or so. I'm not getting into the finer details but for every extra 10 CS you have over the other guy, you've got about 170 more gold. 1 kill in lane is about 15-20 creeps and CSing is the best way to get fed, it's the most reliable form of income you have other than passive gold gen.

Mechanically if you can get to 75-80 CS per 10 in a custom game you might be able to get into low gold (assuming your other skills are up) but you want to be able to get them all, particularly on champs you main.

The "mark" that most higher tier players go for is roughly (current minute*10) - 10. So at 10 minutes aim for 90 cs but you should change this figure for your level of play, the champion and matchup. For example in a Jax vs Swain top matchup the Jax should aim lower than the usual 90 unless he gets an early lead. Also remember that you can (mentally) add kills to your cs where 1 kill = about 15 cs (20 for First Blood and shutdowns). This will give you a closer "true" cs difference in a lane. Going back to the Swain/Jax matchup lets say that Swain has been farming well and has 83 cs at minute 10. The Jax however has been denied most of lane and has only 50 at minute 10 but got First Blood when his jungler ganked. The Jax's true CS is about 70, much closer to his desired mark and only about 15 cs behind Swain, which isn't bad for a melee who is weak early vs a ranged lane bully. You also have to remember towers and assists when trying to come up with "true" CS numbers but they get a little more indepth. I can add more to this if anyone wants just hit reply.

And don't forget cannon minions, that make calculations even harder.
