Why can't we leave a game 5 minutes after having a DC?

Dunno if this has already been asked on the Boards, but then again i'm from EUW. I only came here because of higher chances of recieving feedback.

DOTA 2 and LoL have been targets of many comparisons. Most of which with the intention of knowing "which is better" Of course, they are different games with different mechanics and learning curve, and the choice between both must be made personaly

But that's not the point

There is one thing DOTA does much better. That is handling with negative behavior (that includes flaming, intentional feeding, and AFK'ing) I am not really into the "flaming" part, cause i've only played a few games of DOTA (mostly because my hardware can't handle it), but what i do know is that if someone AFK's in the game they have 5 minutes to reconnect. From there on out people are free to exit the game.

Why isn't this in League of Legends? Yes i agree that in DOTA you can end up with almost an hour of non finished games. But better have that than 20 minutes of waiting to surrender. And besides, implementing this measure WILL NOT increase the leaving rate of games, since the original AFK'ers will still get punished by the system

So the question still stands Why can't we leave a game 5 minutes after having a DC?

I think this should be in. It's annoying when I play ADC and my support and jungler never connect. Not fun to play.

Because exploits. And toxic people would force unfortunate players to leave the game so they could leave without any consequences

I don't see how it could be exploited if they chose to not record the match if the person doesn't connect like they do in DotA. You'd waste 5 mins waiting, but that's better than spending 40 or 50 in a game where your team wont surrender even if it's a 2v5, or if the enemy just chooses to not end the game for that long which happens to me a lot because people are assholes and can't just take a free win, they have to all get full build and take 4 barons first.

Ending a disconnected game would prevent all of this.

Unless they DDos them out of the game this is unlikely, and in any case bullying someone enough to make them AFK already has consequences, successful or not.

Riot has hinted at plans for when matches start with an afk or D/C.

After the match starts however, not so much.

first of all it would have to be 10-15 mins and they prolly wouldn't let u do this in ranked games cus its kinda like saying here u guys get a free win we won't try to stop u. They have this feature in other mobas and honestly it makes the games rly boaring.

I really don't see any reason why not to do this. It can't be exploited since someone has to be dc'd from the beginning of the game for this system to take action and it works really well in DOTA.
