This champ doesent deserve to be cripled by being a mana champ, what kind of fkn balance is this? was he OP at some point where the developers were sick of him? why not just nerf numbers instead of making him a disgraceful mana champ god dam it i play him the first time and he's a dissapointment :/ what a fkn let down, Sion a fun to play champ but that mana gutting ruined it, time to look for another champ to main.

I mean manaless champions are and should be exceptions not the norm...
Besides, his mana usage and costs are good balancing levers. His abilities are extremely effective, if not downright overbearing, when used right and need to be restricted somehow. If he went manaless he would need significant nerfs.
idontplaythemeta1 votesI take the mana regen mastery plus an ancient coin as sion support. Boom your good and you can still overextend around without having to buy a chalice. I main sion with 60k mastery. Take it from me. He ain't gutted from mana downs.
D rok1 votesI honestly didn't mind his mana issues when crystalline flask sort of eliminated them for laning. But without it, it's really rough. His W changes also usually make using it in trades a pretty big waste of mana.
I agree that things are a little rough for him, but I don't think it's too far off of balance.

It's normal to be gated by mana costs. It's really not that big of a deal since he typically builds 
anyway. Plus, today's jungle items give ez mode sustain even early on.
