Wukong's Power Level?

I have heard people say on more than one occasion that Wukong isn't very good. But I recently unlocked him in my quest to unlock all the champions. Playing normals tonight I got autofilled to jungle (which I suck at in general), I warned my team that I wouldn't be very good but I would do my best, and I picked wukong as my jungler. I proceeded to go 9/1/1 in a game where our team had 17 total kills to the opposing team's 9 kills. And my only death was due to an execution by the blue buff at level 3 (I did mention I suck at jungle). The opponents surrendered unanimously at 17 minutes. Wukong honestly felt unstoppable. Every time I ran into someone in the jungle I deleted them. I don't know how to insert a picture here or I'd link a screenshot of the post-game.

But is Wukong really that good? Or did I just get very lucky this game? I've had people tell me he's bad. But I have NEVER gone 9/1 in the jungle in my life. I find myself wondering if I've been misinformed or if maybe he is just very snowbally when ahead? Anyone with more jungle and/or wukong experience give me some insight?

According to statistics, above average top, average Mid, and below average Jungle.

You were probably lucky, as Wukong requires aggressive snowballing to really dominate a game the way you described. If you are bad at Jungle in general, it honestly sounds like opportunity just happened to fall on your lap at every turn. With that said, he is very snowbally when he is ahead.

Imo, the main problem with Wukong is that maximum usage with him is mostly reactional, at least in the early game when it matters most. His burst is good and ganks are scary...if he reacts to bad positioning on the enemy laner. For similar reasons, his counterganks are ridiculous and can completely sweep the tide on a 2v2 or 3v3 skirmish...which is reactional in nature. He's not designed to powerfarm nor is he really designed to force things until level 6, which by that time he's either snowballing or doing nothing.

No reason to play wukong jungle when things like LeeSin Khazix Vi JarvanIV Rengar exist. I say this because the bruisers listed have better ganks than wukong on top of better clears. The assassins listed are more likely to burst the squishy more efficiently and get out safer. Also, something that wu lacks for the jungle is actual sustain, decoy can be used for that, but will screw you over if you get invaded and its on cd.

Wukong is great in lower elo, but the higher you go the less useful he is.

He has great initiation in low elo where people are often grouped and don't respect his aoe powers, also his clears won't be a problem as he can make up for it with successful ganks.

Wukong suffers from problem that he is either too squishy or deals little damage, depending on how you build him. Very snowball reliant, and without his ulti he doesn't do much.

He's still fun tho, so if you like him just go for it.

I don't wan't to waste time on why Wu is weak. But to make it short, he's only okay when play by otp... there no reason to pick him unless u main him tbh.

Anyway for u jng, start E then take ur W.
