Why doesn't Riot give the people what they want? I want URF. I'm bored of norms, ranked and ARAM. I'm not a pro player, but I've been playing the game for a long time, and URF was refreshing and so much fun. Now I'm forced to go back to the same old game modes that I've been playing for like six years. If you like the normal game modes, I'm not bashing them or you, I'm just saying why not have URF available for people like me?

Kai Guy3 votesBecuase folks burn out on urf pretty fast, the meta gets built and it gets stale quickly after that, riot would have to invest time into keeping it fresh. Edit, how ever given the rotateing ques we can hope to see it back in a few months as opposed to haveing to wait an entire year, so there is that.
Meat Feast2 votesI would disagree about the staleness of it though. I played a ton of URF this past weekend and it was always fun. Sure some champs are stronger than others, but there's still a good diversity of champs that anyone can play and win, especially with random synergies you don't see in norms/ranked. Plus the games go by much quicker, and that's better than spending 30-40 mins in each norm/ranked game imho.

for the very few games of urf i played this year. That being said as time goes on you see less and less and less of this and people get really nasty if your not rocking the "broken op" champs. If they went and just had it as a custom game option id have no issue, id love to see Custom become a bit more Wc3 style in variations of game play, but i dont think its worthwhile to keep it as a que and pay people to balance it.
Meat Feast1 votesI would agree with that, allowing a custom game mode URF would solve the issue! If it's true that it would become stale over time then people will stop playing it and it'll die out naturally. But just taking it away because Riot feels like it doesn't feel right.

ShippoTail1 votesMain reason for not making urf perminate is the rotating queue, they want that to be around so they can play with making more 'fun game modes' and keeping resources to balance things in a rotation makes it easier or something I guess, but it also gives them time to digest the data they got. "SONA OP" only in lower MMR, in URF 'pro' play you rarely see her, so she is fine where she is, or something like that kind of thing. Who knows...
