Normals MMR is insane.

I'm sure other people have this problem as well, but my normals mmr is out of whack. Like playing with diamonds and plats every game instead of silvers and golds. Like it's at the point where I'm lucky to win 1 in 5 games of norms because i'm up against a diamond 2 adc when i'm just chilling at silver 2. Can anybody tell me why this happens so often? Also, is there anyway to fix this so I can actually enjoy my normals instead of having to have an uphill battle against 3 plats and a diamond every game?

Normals is always a crapshoot for me, I agree there's a definite problem with the matchmaking.

I play with bronze kids, silver, gold, plat, diamond, I even got a challenger one time. (only one time, though, so..... outlier)

On top of that, I get queued against pre-made 4 man teams and 5 man teams when my whole team is solo or duo randoms.

I literally had a game this morning where I had 3 golds, a plat, and a bronze 4. The bronze 4 was our jungler, Yi, and he honestly didn't even know what to build, and just constantly got caught out or tried to 1v5. The whole game. We still won, but god damn it was painful.

Something needs to be done about normals matchmaking, for sure. Its a mess.

Don't fret, you're not alone. I'm chalking it up to preseason as to why my unskilled silver 2 butt is also playing against plat more than not. I have only been able to pull out wins if I'm playing against bronze. I don't think I've seen a silver player in some time outside ARAM. It's made me play RGM's, TT, or ARAM. Normals matchmaking seems really, really off.

higher elos use it as a practice mode before ranked so yeah you'll run into them

I just play it so i can learn from said players and try to better myself at the game

Aram and twisted treeline is the low elo games now because majority of players only use SR

All I play is draft normals and it's nothing but plats, diamonds and high gold's lol. I'd like to play with people in my tier too once in a while.
