Had a game as an assassin and I always targeted the ADC, until they began getting enraged at the fact.
"Stop focussing me!" is the short version of their outburst.
My response? "I have to."
And you know what? It's kind of true, as an assassin it is my job to focus down the squishy damage dealer to ensure a good teamfight for my team.

their ADC had shitty position
their team was shitty enough to let you get to them and didnt cc you
their team had 0 cc to begin with (which if I were to ADC, I wouldve dodged)

kind of gives little to no time to react late game.
The mark of a good assassin is being able to disappear with a kill as quickly as you make yourself known.
Another is invoking paranoia in the enemy team of where you could be. Such as 
. A good Shaco can gank without ganking, because the enemy team will fear him coming in while he's taking objectives.
This ADC was too tilted to even consider their position.
