Even though pros and high-elo players now build her AD, I'm still playing her AP.
I've been playing, SPAMMING Kai'Sa for the last few days, so I'll tell you about my experience with her.
#BUILD
I'm always rushing
first. It's far too good to not take it.
I'm buying it because rushing
makes you far too weak.
Afterwards, I buy

I buy boots second, but they are situational. If I were to build however I like, I'd either take
or
.
With
and
, you can evolve both your Q and your E. With
, you can evolve your W.
This build is aiming for AP, but has some AD. To be honest, I just wanted a build that allowed me to evolve all my skills.
I'm running AP Kai'Sa because I genuinely think it's better. Her plasma only scales with AP, and her W does so much damage when you're going AP.
AD or AP, her shield with Killer Instinct is really thick.
You can have a better lifesteal with an AD build, but
does the job too. ( and it has an active that slows and hurts )
Kai'Sa is a strong duelist, pretty much like Vayne. She can 1v1 anyone if she plays well and isn't facing an opponent that is more fed than she is. ( she might die before she kills her target, but she has an outplay potential with her R )
A lot of times, when I was chased an low on HP, I fired my W. The opponent is marked by plasma, and as soon as they want to engage on me, I E then Q, AA if they're not dead yet and boop. Dead.
If you're going AP, the damage and the plasma stacks it will give you is INSANE.
You're low > Opponent chase you > You use W > It chunks their health bar and mark them but they still think they'll be able to kill you > You Q > They are dead
People underestimate the damage when your plasma detonates. AP Kai'Sa is all about detoning the plasma in order to destroy your opponents.
