I've played so much bard, and I love him more than any other champ. That being said, his team mates can make it a completely aggravating experience for him.

Example 1: ally adc ignored the 3 health packs on the ground and then dies. Example2: you make a tunnel infront of your ally for a quick get away and they walk past it and die even though it has been there for 5 seconds. Example 3: you make a shortcut for your adc to get to lane , ping assistance on it 3 times and say "go through the tunnel!" only to have them go the long way.

Although sometime you get games where your adc and jungler know what bard does, and it's awesome. It's like "YES, THESE ARE MY PEOPLE!"

I can't tell you how many times a Bard has said something like that to me... They get so fucking relieved to have someone that knows what they do.

Bard is just heavily team reliant, and also very heavily reliant on the players knowledge.

Bard's skill floor (that is the level that is required to play the champion well) is actually very very high in comparison to other supports, and the reward for reaching that skill floor isn't as rewarding simply practicing a different support for a comparable amount of matches. That being said, a mastered bard is a very scary thing (generally far scarier than other supports), but is heavily reliant on his own team to make the most out of his kit. However, when the stars align and you have a masterful bard and a team that actually knows how to play to bards strengths and understand how to use bards kit to their own favor, then you have an incredibly terrifying opponent to deal with indeed.

Thresh is harder =p

I think Thresh can be hard depending on what you're trying to accomplish, but as far as skill floors go, he has a fairly easy-to-understand combo. Hooks/slows/knockbacks are easy to understand; Bard has a bunch of weird situational shit going on & can just as easily screw over your team as much as it can help. If Thresh screws up, it's usually just him that dies, & odds are you've at least gotten some cc off

Disagreed, if Thresh screws up with any ability in his kit, generally it won't get a party member killed.

Bard on the other hand.....if Bard uses his ult incorrectly it can actually cause the enemy to win the teamfight. And the same goes for his tunnel. There is a lot more room for error in both of those abilities than any of the skills in thresh's kit combined.

That being said, I will say that I think a mastered Thresh is nearly as powerful as a mastered Bard, however I think that in the end, Bard wins (ever-so-slightly) with the higher skillcap.

Edit: To put in another way; A bad Thresh is useless. A bad allied Bard is basically an additional opponent on the enemies team.

Thats unrelated to mech skill.

Thresh is nearly as powerful

Wut, he's stronger

Bard has a lot more complex mechanics to his kit than Thresh does, with a lot of different interactions (quite a few of which actually have interactions for both the enemy and ally) and requiring proper positioning and placement of his skills. A single screw up can mean the difference between your team getting away, their team getting a free engage, their team getting a free zhonya, or your team catching someone out.

And the illusion of Thresh being stronger is simply because Thresh is much easier to play and much easier to master than Bard is. In reality when you have a Bard that is really good at what he is doing and a team that also knows how to play around bard really well, then bard is a significantly stronger pick. However, there are not very many teams that know how to play around Bard and there are very few people out there that have actually learned how to play bard to the best of his abilities.

Dude, you dont even play bard (or thresh). Outside his ult, he has very easy to use abilities, just require some know-how.

? I can do all that np's.

Shroom Junkie1 votes

Nah, he's not a troll pick. Just extremely hard to play.

He's best in ranked teams since he's better with fast coordination through voice chat, until you get to the higher elos should you play him in solo-queue where people on your team can predict what you're going to do easier and sometimes understand pings better.

But once you do play him well, he's a monster. I have a friend who mains him and even though he's low elo, he's extremely good at him even without quick communication.

Eh, you're building tank. That's usually the best build path for Bard but in lower elos I see Bards building AP or utility support paths(Athene's Holy Grail, Mikael's, etc.). And its especially fun when your Bard runs from an enemy then Magical Journeys their Katarina right into our ADC...

But in normal games boots5-Lich-ludens-twinshadows-hat-rylais is amazing. 3shotting scrubs cause they think you're the support.

Daxterr1 votes

Rylais isn't very good on bard because they changed how slows work. At most it's going to give you an extra 20% slow on your meeps early game until they get better.

Um, no? He's a utility support, his AP ratios suck balls. Better to build supportive items that make you tanky like SS, LotIS, FH, Mikael's, heck even Ohmwrecker or Zz'rot portal is better that building AP shit. Maybe Ardent Censer for the AS boost passive. But a 65%, 20%, 0% and 0% AP ratios are not something that make you want to build AP. Never build AP on this guy, its almost useless. He's not a damage dealer, he's complete and total utility. Anything that helps his teammates is good for him.

He's just very team-relient. It's one of Riot's attempts to make Solo Queue players communicate better, but it didn't really work.

Only because it's true he so fucking worthless that it's pretty much a 6v4 when he gets picked.

I hate being adc, and bard just takes off bot lane and goes up to top lane, mid lane, chime re-appears top lane, so he goes back top lane, mid, bot for 1 minute, then goes back top lane

i just really hate that.
