Almost every single game in silver gold has at least one smurf

its the same in higher Elos. Since S9 started i have very often Smurfs in my games. For example Gold1 with 85% winrate + They usually dominate everything because they are from D1 or some shit. Its so annoying. In earlier seasons there was never SUCH a high amount of smurfs and shit. Matchmaking is completely broken since season start. Often i even have 2 Smurfs on one team. fuckin hilarious...

Well, in the past Riot would be all "Maybe they're smurfs, maybe someone's just having a good game, who knows? Doesn't it really affect that many games?"

Now we have those flippable cards and it couldn't be more obvious. I'm surprised Riot went through with those when they ought to have predicted how easy it'd be to see that smurfs determine the outcome of pretty much every single game.

I'm silver most of my roles, gold jung. I can see smurfs all the time, yea they do good but it's still no guarantee of a victory. I.E. this guy with no playtime on Elise went like 8/1/16 , pulled off some amazing high level plays and did great, however we lost because of one bad play near the end. Shit happens and I haven't really been bothered too much by it.

I believe you. I have watched streamers playing smurfs run into other players from Diamond+ running smurfs in low ELO. I personally haven't encountered it but I am also not playing ranked at this point.

Someone being 9-0 doesn't prove they are a smurf. Some champs are just naturally working that way, they are 9-0 or 0-9, and that's true even if you're playing at your true level.

Well, in defense of the technical aspect of the word Smurf as a context for the LoL solo Q universe, anything below D2, cannot be called an actual smurf. There is just a bunch of bad players in silver and gold, and when a so called 'smurf' is climbing an account, it's because:

A. It's actually a lowbie that got hard stuck somewhere in low diamond or plat. B. They are getting paid by a friend of them to raise the account to gold or low plat. C. They are learning a champion or role (might happen). D. Actual account boosters. E. One tricks, one tricking something new or meta. F. Scripter that has not yet been caught cause lowbies cannot identify them.
