Actually, Sona is one of the MOST HATED champions by Rito in the entire game, if not THE MOST. At least three or four employees have openly stated their hatred towards her just in recent history and the actions they take regarding the champ are always blatant displays of that loathing. She doesn't have a single true buff in her entire patch history since the beginning of this game. They gutted her in a way that was not only unanimously hated by the entire player base, but also ensured she'd never be a playable character. Even the skins team has shown they have either a disliking of Sona, or they're just indifferent enough so they let other Rito employees walk all over them when regarding her.

At least Vladimir has actually received a buff before(patch 4.11) and his patch history is a blank slate for the most part.

Not only has Sona NEVER received a buff since the beginning of this game, her patch history is a depressing story of suffering nerf after nerf after nerf. Just in season 4 alone, she received more than 40 nerfs. That's not an exaggeration.

List all 40 of them.

Here's where you are lying, Sona has received buffs, and she did not recieve 40 nerfs in Season 4 alone. Let alone Season 3, 4 and 5

Patch 3.08:

-Base Health increased to 450 from 410 -Base Armor increased to 11.3 from 9.3

Patch 3.14: -Added a 0.2 Ability Power ratio to the damage of Power Chord – Staccato -Added a 0.02 Ability Power ratio to the damage reduction of Power Chord - Diminuendo -Added a 0.04 Ability Power ratio to the slow amount of Power Chord - Tempo

Patch 4.13: -Base armor increased to 15 from 12. -Health per level increased to 77 from 70. -Heal is now modified by 1% for each 1% of the target's missing health. -Ranks in Crescendo modifies her base abilities' auras -Q +10/20/40 bonus on hit magic damage -W +10/20/40 bonus shield -E +2/4/6% bonus movement speed.

Patch 4.17: SHARP NOTES: Fixed a bug where Hymn of Valor's cast range was shorter than intended (because that really matters)

Patch 4.20: Base heal increased

Patch 5.5:

Crescendo COST: 100/150/200 mana ⇒ 100 mana at all ranks

5.22 notes: -Base mana regeneration increased to 11.5 from 9. (This was compensation for the removal of blue potions)

In addition to the indirect buffs recieved by FQC, Windspeaker's Blessing, Lich Bane etc. etc. Also in 3.14 patch, most support champion's AP ratios were reduced, in general.

Propaganda Machine much?

Patch 3.08:

-Base Health increased to 450 from 410 -Base Armor increased to 11.3 from 9.3

These were made as compensation for nerfs to Aria in the same patch. It was a trade-off that overall ended as a nerf. Justifiably so, since she was close to pick/ban status before this patch. I have no complaints about patch 3.8, she was too strong and this toned her down.

A support should not be stacking AP items and these ratios required an unreasonably high amount to be worthwhile. Since they were also coupled with nerfs in the same patch, it's also technically a trade-off. A rather severe one too: whilst every support short of Lulu received nerfs this patch, Sona's were the 2nd-most devastating just after Taric's and forced her out of the meta in favor of Nami.

  • The armor increase was literally the only positive change that entire patch and was made in addition to the HP-per level to compensate to the nerf to her base HP. Her overall effective HP is still lower than pre-4.13 in spite of both of these.
  • The % scaling on the heal came at the cost of base numbers, overall the skill healed for less until an ally's HP fell BELOW 40% remaining.
  • Sona does not use auras, but I'll ignore that for now. A support champion is an early-game character that is ALWAYS under-leveled. Trapping power on basic abilities in points of R is inherently contradictory to a support's viability.
  • Hymn's secondary active that replaced its aura provides less DPS. Logically, the deficit is equivalent to on-average roughly 1,250 AP to make up for the reduced damage.
  • Aria's secondary active that replaced its aura provides less damage mitigation. Assuming an absolute ideal scenario, the deficit equates to roughly ~700 AP, which increases multiplicatively in-practice.
  • For the increase in Celerity's active to make up the deficit for the loss of its aura requires around 350 AP, making it the skill that received the lightest nerfs. Yet despite this, Rito themselves have admitted the changes have practically made the spell a complete non-factor.

Patch 4.17: SHARP NOTES: Fixed a bug where Hymn of Valor's cast range was shorter than intended (because that really matters)

This was not a bugfix, it was a revert of TWO separate shadow nerfs. We know these were shadow nerfs and not bugs because she's already had FIVE shadow nerfs confirmed since Gutting 4.13

Patch 4.20: Base heal increased

Due to the % heal being CUT IN HALF this patch, the overall change was a nerf, even Sona-haters admitted so. Previously, Sona lost value unless healing an ally below 40% remaining health. After this patch, the spells point of value became an even more stiflingly lower 33% remaining health to retain value. This is all before factoring in the nerfs to the spell's CD, mana cost and et cetera. After calculating all of these changes, the spell's actual value has been reduced by more than 98% from pre-4.13

Patch 5.5:

Crescendo COST: 100/150/200 mana ⇒ 100 mana at all ranks

http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/3dRQ6g4P-its-now-been-1-year-4-months-and-2-days

5.22 notes: -Base mana regeneration increased to 11.5 from 9. (This was compensation for the removal of blue potions)

Just like 5.5, this was not a character-specific buff, thus it is not a true buff to Sona.

The fact still remains: Sona has never received a real buff in the entire history of this game's existence. No amount of hypocrisy will change this truth.

Mathematically, Real is defined as a value of any number that is positive or negative.

Imaginary is the value of i or some negative square root bullshit.

There is no i value in any of these nerfs or buffs.

They are all real.

Also note that Sona was used in Season 4 Worlds

Only reason why Sona is picked less often is because Nami essentially a better version (also higher skill cap) of Sona.

Idea: Make the Power Chorded E a root. huehuehueuehuehue. Hard CC pre-6

Also note that Sona was used in Season 4 Worlds

All 3 games Sona was played in that tournament were losses. As the underdog in each match, all 3 were publicly predicted to be losses, even before champion select. Lastly, two of those games were picked by the weakest team in the entire tournament by a player who is well-known to play ONLY off-meta support champs. He also played support Syndra and support Kayle in that tourney.

Only reason why Sona is picked less often is because Nami essentially a better version (also higher skill cap) of Sona.

This is true.

Idea: Make the Power Chorded E a root. huehuehueuehuehue. Hard CC pre-6

Although this has been previously suggested more than once, it remains a good idea.

Well Riot is unable to balance Auras. They've proofen this multiple times and Sona has/had 3 of them! x'D

There main issue: To make an Aura feel strong for an individual they'd make it OP within a Team - to balance an aura for a Team it would be useless on a single Player.

They kinda have proofen this by Bulwark, Zekes, Taric, Sona-mini-rework and WotA, when ever they are able to kill an Aura, they do! xD

(Now I'm sad because I miss my Aura-Taric... the only Supp I ever had fun with. q.q Bulwark, Zekes, WotA, Thornmail, FrozenHeart -> delete your W button, press R -> Won Teamfigth! x'D)

So champions are balanced around items, which are good picks for specific champions, even on supports. Get over it. Literally only 2 or 3 of a Support's item slots are used for support items. They have had a modicum of income since season 3. Just because a champion relies on an item does not make that champion unplayable.

see your the player i didn't want to even see this bored just going to whine about something and if you lose to an assassin it not that it the champ is better then you it was the player os better then you and you need to get better to come beat him

Pika3103 votes

I wish this were true, but it's not. Rito shows very clear favoritism towards assassins with toxic players styles and #LC$BIGPLAY$ potential.

For example:

The murderer with a thousand escapes and zero risks Zed The poacher with NO counterplay Rengar The troll with the troll pole that's allowed freedom to troll Fizz

Well, this is my view, and it'll never happen but...

Yasuo - Kill off the double crit chance, kill off the 50% bonus armor pen for 15 seconds on ult - buff the shield and his ult damage, but put Q and E on higher cooldowns (removing the E 10 second restriction since it'll be about three seconds even with cooldown) and you have an actual champion who isn't massively powerful to the point of destroying everybody with one single item.

Riven Nerf the amount of her E, take out the W stun because she already has a brief stun/knock-up effect on the Q, and reduce her passive damage. She'll still be super strong.

Garen - No more critical strike chance, no more true damage. Make him a tank, and stop giving him more damage than half the ADC's in the game.

Tryndamere - Just kill the ult. Entirely. Make his new ult something like Sion's passive and allow him for a brief time to gain 100% lifesteal for five seconds on anything he hits with increased attack speed, but not "inability to die" at all. Most of the time he isn't a problem but when you aren't using somebody with any mobility you're a sitting duck for his crits.

Easy solutions, no chance of implementation.
