Please, play a normal for your first match of the day!

Hey. So I have 1 thing I am going to ask of anyone reading this. Before you play a game of ranked, do a speed test. If you have poor results, or are getting interrupted (some speed testers will also tell you if you drop signal often). BEFORE you play a ranked game for the day PLAY A GODAMN NORMAL MATCH. Do you know why? Not only does this help prepare you for ranked (gets you "warmed up" and makes your game-play better.) But guess what else it does? IT ALERTS YOU TO THE FACT THAT YOU MAY BE LAGGING! So, you dont jump in a ranked match, and go "welp im lagging today" and proceed to loose every teamfight we get into, because we lack an adc(whatever role you are).

Also, while we are all being intelligent and thinking about things why don't we all go crazy and learn not to hit the sejuani that has 4 completed defensive items by 30 minutes because she somehow is sucessful in 95% of her ganks! You can't stop her from ganking you, so lets push the wave as hard as possible (while csing 1-2 creeps per wave) and try to poke under enemy tower, while not wasting money on wards on each side of river (if your mid obviously). I mean hell, why ward? That is 75 gold that you are giving up. Who cares about helping yourself/team out with map vision anyways?

What's lag? I only have random disconnects that occur in about 1/4 of my games, with no explanation (usually during a teamfight).

Hell, even a quick custom game. When I'm living somewhere with shit wifi it's "alright let's see how early X can solo dragon" once a day.

(1v5ing against bots in a custom game is fun too).

Lol you probably never lagged before, because this wont work. If I join a normal and Im fine, the next game I play could be at 500 ping the whole time. Its random

People always think I am weird for loading up the tutorial before I play ranked to check connection and for lag

+1!

Seriously, one of my friends suggested this to me. It does help in getting warmed up before you dive into ranked. I try to do this whenever possible.

Always do.

Something to do with a 65% win rate in normals and a 45% win rate in ranked. Can you guess where all the trolls are at?

If you're really strapped for time, you can finish a Coop VS AI game in under 20 minutes, excluding loading times.

Playing norms before ranked also reminds you of how awful your teammates can be or if rito is being generous that day with matchmaking.

I don't see why people are always like "just warm-up bro". No. I play SoloQ first thing when I wake up. And I always do just fine. So, this whole warming up thing is just an excuse. At least for me.

I have something to tell you. Most, people do not lag its just what they say when they die, so they do not admit there bad.

Except that their is no consistency from game to game.

I played a fine game last night with 89 ping from beginning to end. The next game I spent the first 10 minutes bouncing from 90 - 300 essentially making last hitting and trading in lane impossible.

I'm not sure what changed in the 2 minutes between matches that was the cause of that.

TL;DR: Testing before ranked doesn't mean you wont lag out anyway.
