Who has the right to the role? The one who called first or the one who picked first?

I just went into champ select and called support without picking a support yet, because I wanted to see what the ADC would choose before I chose my champion. Then some tahm kench comes in and instalocks. He tells me I'm an idiot, because apparently, "pick order has power over call order." In blind pick. Blind pick. I thought that rule only applied to draft. Am I the one who's in the wrong? Because I've played over 500 games and never heard of such bullshit.

Or just be a team player and take a different role.

I see no point in crying over roles in Blind Pick to begin with. If you want a specific role, go play Team Builder.

Most kids play Blind Pick just to jump in and play the newest or favorite champ to begin with. One of the reason i refuse to play anything but Normal Draft or Ranked.

If you can't come to an agreement with your team-mates, Riot has said that Pick Order should be the final deciding factor.

I forget the exact details of how that occurs when your picking phase occurs at the same time, but if he was above you in pick order than it was a valid, if rude and uncooperative, move.

However, communication and compromise is still the optimal solution.

Pick order is the** last resort**, when players are unable or unwilling to compromise.

Just say pick order. It is a joke to say the rest. Yeah you can work together or the first pick can take what they want. Riot says that we should work together but their is no reason to do it. It is not punishable to take the role you want if no one else has taken it.

The best argument in the world and the reason riot does not punish non communication; "i was avoiding a fight"

I have to disagree with that, honestly.

While pick order isn't punishable, communication and compromise is still the best solution. It allows your team to enter the game happier instead of having someone angry that they didn't get their role, it potentially allows everyone on your team to play a role that they have experience with and enjoy, and it creates a better atmosphere among your team for the rest of the game.

You do not understand. It is not about the best solution. It boils down to first pick preferences, they hold all the power. If it is in their interests they can or can not compromise. Their is a reason why early picks do not though.
