Veigar needs a rework badly

I know a lot of trolls whined when riot actually did the right thing and balanced viegar, only to give in to their crying and making him broken again. Honestly I don't even care about his 2 hit kill damage, yes that's completely ridiculous and has no place in a compeitive game, but the real issue is his stun. Both the duration and the fact it can stun you long after it's up if you run into it. The former should be lowered and the latter should be removed. Viegar players are also always the second most toxic players alive, right behind yasuo because they think they're somehow good because riot lets them 2 hit people. riot are really the ones to blame and it's clear they aren't going to correct their mistake again, but if they did it'd add a lot more balance to a tremendously broken champ.

You just grouped up every veigar player and called them toxic. I love playing veigar but i'm one of the least toxic players in my group of friends (a several of my friends like to tilt the enemy team for fun and psychological advantage, but usually never to the case of needing a report)

Anyway. Veigar is the litteral version of an AP Stacking Nasus. If the game starts getting long, he's gonna hurt. Yes he can kill you at lvl 6 still, but so can nasus. but as long as they stack up, they will scale very well into the late game. Only difference is that Nasus builds tanky because he's in the middle of the fight, while veigar's range lets him build additional damage.

I'm sure you know the summoner's and Items that help against him summoner 4 summoner 1 item 3140 item 3139 item 3156 item 3102 item 3190 item 3053

As well as the champions who aren't too bad against him or counter him in some way Katarina Ezreal Kassadin Kayle Fiora Yasuo Annie Fizz Kindred Orianna Zyra

Ugh, Sterak's Gage. Such a PAIN in the butt. XD

FORTUNATELY, in Low Silver, I DON'T NEED TO WORRY ABOUT IT MUCH!

TTK Dreadnought1 votes

As a top main, <3 Steraks when there's high burst or executioner ults.

Sometimes i feel that Sterak's HP threshold is too high though. But it's acceptable when needed.

I agree at times, but ultimately [Ha.] it fits as a niche item. Which is something I adore in LoL. I like items and characters that fit a niche. Specific champions that fit specific counters.

risky choice for blind pick.

imo, the stun is perfectly balanced, and so is Veig. if someone doesn't respect a giant purple circle on the ground with menacing pillars coming out of it, that's their fault.

Keepe1 votes

I wouldn't say PERFECTLY balanced. As someone who's been playing Veigar for years, I find the "Scaling with every spell hit on enemy champions" going a bit overboard. As I said above, that would be like a Nasus who gains stacks every time he uses Q rather than every last hit. Veigar should earn his AP. Not have it handed to him. It encourages more aggressive play for the little guy which takes away a key point of the game where enemies can exploit his weakness.

let me make you and everyone else understand something about Nasus, since no one seems to have a clue and for some reason keeps trying to compare him to broken viegar. Nasus is NOT a late game champion and anyone who says he is, is again clueless, he's a mid game champion. He's also one of the weakest champions early game. Late game he falls off tremendously, even with 1k+ stacks(that's supposably 1k extra damage to q's) he doesn't do very much if fighting equal level champs, even if they have little armor and he has triforce. And his tank ability turns into nothing and he gets melted instantly. He certainly does no where near 1k damage even on squishys. Veigar on the other hand 2/3 hits people ALL-GAME-LONG. Even if they have a ton of mr and it's absolutely ridiculous. His stun is the real issue though because even if you dodge but are inside you're still pretty screwed.

I think you missed the point entirely.

He's the literal definition of a late-game juggernaut.

Late game he falls off tremendously, even with 1k+ stacks(that's supposably 1k extra damage to q's) he doesn't do very much if fighting equal level champs, even if they have little armor and he has triforce.

The only way he can fall off that badly with 1k stacks is if you lose priority of objectives. Your Q will deal around 956 (after the 40 armor) on turrets. a turret has 3500 HP. You will kill a turret in about 9 seconds, and you can kill a nexus in 9 seconds.

You're speaking about towers, not players...and his damage falls off hard against players late game if enemy is equal level. He's a mid game champion, i've played hundreds of games with him, i'm well aware of when he peaks and falls off.

Grithok1 votes

I was speaking merely in reference to the power of his event horizon, not his whole kit. c=

Keepe1 votes

Well you did include "And so is Veig" after mention of his stun. Please pardon my confusion.

"i don't know how to walk out of a giant purple circle before it turns into a stun cage"

???

Keepe1 votes

Even if you can't walk out of it, you can immediately re-position yourself to do what Jax does best.

Dodge.

Veigar almost entirely relies on his stun cage to kill. The EWQR combo is deadly but if he misses he's so vulnerable to all ins.

FeXUyzmL4l1 votes

His stun comes up in a split second, "big purple circle" you serious? now I know you're just a troll, a veigar troll.

Akenero1 votes

you realize it was quite literally instantaneous not too long ago, right? so if you're going to complain about the delay on his stun, imagine it without a delay <3 OR back when his q was point and click, guranteed damage. and don't get me started on DFG, his combo was E>Dfg>w>r>q, if they were tanks. He's strong, yes, but he's got counters, blinks destroy him, as do assassins, try playing Ekko Fizz Kassadin Talon Zed against him. He's also very vulnerable to poke damage, since he's short range, so artillery champions are good picks if you're smart and play around his ranges.

TTK Dreadnought1 votes

Ekko would require some practice for some people. They forget that his E is a dash followed by a blink and will often dash into the wall on accident

TTK Dreadnought1 votes

It used to not have a delay at all. As as a nasus main on that account, you should realize that a 95% movement slow for 5 seconds with a 1.6sec CD[1] is much more aggravating when you also build an item 3025 that gives another 30% slow for 2 seconds to make up for the 1 sec cooldown. Even worst when you build Boots of Swiftness making sure you cant escape.

Nasus autoattack Q also has a 2.4 sec CD[2] compared to veigar's skillshot Q's CD of 2.75[3] and their damage on the Q's are pretty similar but also have a different uses (Nasus Q can hit structures, Veigar's Q can hit two targets)

So please, come up with a better argument before you randomly call people "trolls" when I literally just tried to give input and even noted a list of good champs, items and summoners in case you didn't know.

  1. with 40% CD, 1.05sec with 45% CD
  2. with 40% CD, 2.2 with 45% CD
  3. with 45% CD

Edit: Forgot to include Stormraiders movement boost and slow resist

FeXUyzmL4l1 votes

are you seriously comparing nasus to veigar? you make no sense, viegar literally can 2 hit people all game without taking any damage. Even if they have MR, he's nothing like nasus...he's a broken range champion, with a stun that needs a rework.

TTK Dreadnought1 votes

Veigar and Nasus are two sides of a coin.

the issue with MR is that Veigars build always include one or more of the following item 3135 item 3001 item 3020. While its not common for Nasus to build item 3035 item 3033 item 3036 item 3071. item 3142 is the best pen item for him, but still isnt commonly built.

Keepe1 votes

Seriously? Out of everything you're whining about, it's his stun? A huge avoidable circle in the ground that you can easily step past or, if you're a tank, Tenacity Through? The stun that you can easily dodge things in? The stun that people like Zed, Ez, Shaco, Morg, Sivir, LeBlanc (On occasion), Ekko, and pretty much every assassin known to man LAUGH AT?

If you were commenting on how Riot went overboard on his scalings, I would understand. Veigar, as a tiny master of evil lover, should have to EARN his AP rather than getting it for sneezing on enemy champions. No one wants to see a Nasus that gets Q stacks every time he uses it over every time he last hits with it. But commenting on a stun that hinges mostly on the stupidity of the opposing players is... Rather pointless.
