Discussion: Kindred's Identity

Before starting I loveKindred and their concept all over. They are my favorite Champ besides Jhin and Malzahar and I absolutetly love their gameplay, voiceover, and art-style.

However, I feel like Kindred's abilities and gameplay do not match with their identity as Grim Reaper/ Death.

In the current meta Kindred's early game is very strong, and falls off from lvl 9. Though kindred actually do have infinite stacking their damage only feels relevant after reaching a big amount of stacks (8 and more stacks).

  1. As I love the stacking and hunting, death should feel like something inevitable - and not something that falls off in the late game. They should become even more relevant especially when marking someone. Death is a constant threat and therefore Kindred should be one once they've marked you.

  2. While Wolf and Lamb both have different roles dealing with the ones that "run from death" and "accept death", they also should deal more damage when both of them happen. Lamb: Basic Attacks deal bonus damage to targets that face you when attacking. Wolf: Deals more damage for every minute the target is not fighting kindred.

  3. Kindred's passive damage should deal max or missing health damage as current health doesn't feel sufficient on a champion that IS death itself. It just feels like it does more damage to someone that thrives with life, but less to enemies that are close to dying. All men must die eventually #ValarMorghulis, and so Kindred's passive should deal more damage to either every living being (Max HP) or at least to those champions that are closest to death (missing HP)

(I know missing HP would make their ult even more usefull as the passive would deal more damage to low health targets but I think it better fits their identity )

What do you think about Kindred's current Identity? Does their gameplay match with it?

I'd like to hear some reactions from you.

Have a nice day and see you on the Rift :)

According to Kindred (Lamb) when she told to story to Wolf about a man who split himself in two so he wouldn't be alone. The theory to it, was Kindred was that person who? I'm not sure. They are two as one really, but heck I'm going to assume that either the person before hand had something to do with death. Possibly executioner.

It is according to Wikipedia and Rioter Statements "The Personification of death"

In the game League of Legends one of the playable characters is Kindred, who acts as the personification of death. They are a pair of spirits: Lamb, who represents accepting death and dying peacefully, and Wolf, who represents rejecting death and dying painfully.

It does seem like Kindred should be weaker early, both in the game and in the health bar, as when you are young you are not in danger of randomly keeling over, but as you grow so does that chance.

I do agree. They balance her around the early game now (thoug they are still strong) but their real late game is quite weak.
