So everyone excludes support and nothing changes.

Everyone will always exclude support. Just saying..
As a support main, I love this.
My queue times will go into the negatives!
Now I'll be able to buy my items and ward krugs before the game even loads.
I'd fill and exclude ADC cos it's the only role I'm not comfortable with yet. Don't assume everyone excludes support, some people actually QUEUE support you know?
I still don't understand the logic behind the opinion that this would somehow decrease the amount of supports.
Right now, if you don't want to support, you don't ever have to support. We are already at the 'doom scenario' that everyone opposed to the option of an 'except' option already fears.
I know for a fact that this would increase the pool of supports by at least one person, since I would hit fill 'except - jungle' or 'except - bot'.
This could only increase the amount of supports, even if only by a little bit.
You realize this applies even if you don't fill. They stated that your top two positions are no longer guaranteed but instead preferred, you will be getting roles you don't like even without autofill being enabled. This is a downgrade to the current system.
as a support and fill main, this doesn't affect me in the slightest.

You need to elaborate on this little more:
Basically, this is a Position Preference system is going to replace the old Position Select system.
Under this new system, you select your primary and secondary preferences, meaning that you will get these positions preferably. In addition, you can set one role you do not want to play.
This is horrible (coming from a support main).
The only way this would be acceptable is if this option appeared ONLY when someone selects primary "fill".
This is actually a bad thing for mid and top mains.. because they said they'll try to put you in you strength roles. ( the two you choose)
But you still can be auto filled into 3Rd or 4th role..
But you will never get the excluded role...
I just ran my client and I don't get that exclude option ? What gives ? How do I get it ?
Wait... I'm not getting that when I queue up. How do we get that?
