Denial, new Summoner Spell

Keeping it short, Denial would be a targetable silence with equal or slightly greater range than Ignite. While the silence could increase upon key levels 6-11-16, currently I'd like to keep it a 1-1.25 seconds long to avoid criticism. Suggesting this to fill the gap between popular and uncommon Summoner spells, as it could be popular among initiators or assassins, however, they would have to sacrifice either an Ignite or a Flash to be given the small window that "Denial" would allow them to jump on the target.

There's a lack of Summoner spells in general, not just popularity among the eleven currently on Summoner's Rift, or the Mark/Dash on Abyss, Garrison on Dominion, etc. While there aren't a lot to pick from, it's usually kind of like picking an apple off of an apple tree or kicking the tree as hard as you can barefoot.

The VFX would most likely be kind of similar to Nocturne's Bind/Fear in a way? Shadowy lockdown I suppose.

Here's the Summoner Spell icon.

Edit 1: As a side thought, instead of a flat out silence, it could deny usage of basic abilities, but allow Summoner spells and Item actives to be triggered.

So in other words, an ability that makes casters of any sort have no response when attacked... You do realize there's a reason silences were pulled from LeBlanc and Talon, right?

Assassins can already delete squishies. Now you want to not give the squishies a chance to respond. It doesn't matter how sort the duration is if they get killed during it.

More summoner spells: good. This one in particular: bad.

Please no.

Silence is quite possibly the most annoying type of CC in the game.

It's also pretty low-interaction and unexciting. Unlike something with an epic visual like a suppression or knockup, with Silence you're just forced to derp around and look like a moron when you're hit with one.

Additionally - a point-click summoner spell silence is pretty much the exact opposite of "counter-play", as you're essentially deleting your opponent's capability to respond to you in any other way than "run away" or "AA". And when you can't Tumble as Vayne, Alpha as Yi, or Leap to your target as Fiora - AAing as an otherwise dedicated AA champion can actually become significantly more difficult than one would expect. Leading to you looking like a moron when you die as said champion via getting silenced and just sort of derping around.

I mean, you're acting like it's a Cho'gath Length silence, and how is a suppression epic? I get cc'd for 2.5 seconds while dealing damage and I have one item in the entire game that can counter it, except it builds into an AD item. It's one second, Ignite is four seconds, late game dealing 410 true damage while mitigating healing effects. I understand, but as I said, it's only affecting basic abilities, not summoners nor items, it's no different from having to build Mercurial to counter it.
