gold isn't high elo, though. And with role preference, it's not uncommon for someone to not be that familiar with other roles now.

technically anything above silver 3 is "high" elo. thats the 50% mark.

compounded by > 50% of the playerbase is unranked. so anyone in gold is well above average.

but ofc, they still suck in comparison to say... someone in diamond.

Let's be honest. That top 50% bull shit is stupid.

No, above Silver 3 is not considered high elo.

Not even Diamond 5 is high elo.

Start questioning why people don't play support once you're in plat maybe. Honestly, there will always be those players, because everyone wants to " carry "

If the class average on a test is 30%, and someone gets a 40%, it does not mean they got a high mark despite being better than the majority, and in fact it's still a fairly low mark. Gold elo is a similar case of better than most but still not 'high elo'.

In any case, I feel like playing support is a fairly different game from playing top/mid/adc which is a fairly different game from playing jungle. It's fairly common for people to be good at only one or two of those things and be pretty miserable at the others. Support in particular for some reason many people consider 'easy' so don't even try to learn it, and then inevitably do abysmal when they're forced to play it. It's not hard to make it sound easy (similar to jungle - just clear camps you don't even need to last hit, and gank low hp lanes for free kills), but theres a world of difference between good supports and autofilled supports, as adc players in particular tend to be acutely aware.

Tbh I don't expect any elo to be equally good at every role though. If a challenger level adc main is forced to mid, they might do it at a plat level or maybe even diamond since many of the skills transfer, but I wouldn't expect them to mid lane at a challenger level, and if they're in a challenger level game, they probably would end up feeding and looking really bad.

That said, you said "intentionally" feeds. If it really was inting, then it's not a reflection of their skill level, since they actively weren't trying. if it was "that must be inting, why else would you take that trade when you're gonna lose wtf" kind of poor play, then that's not actually inting and it's probably just off-role unfortunateness.

well honestly i cant play adc to save my life... (i have given up trying after 4 years) but i do find it rather hard to believe people cant learn to play support.
