Yasuo is the only champ I've ever complained about.

If you check my boards profile all the way back to the beginning, you'll never see a complaint about any other champ except Yasuo and I've been playing since S3. Meaning, I had no champs to complain about before his release.

  1. The fact he normally enters a match with 20% crit chance and 34% bonus crit damage, then obtaining 100% critical chance after his second item is built is broken in my opinion. This makes his every strike deal 274% total attack damage and steel tempest does 259% total attack damage.

  2. Steel tempest is too spammable and has a range of 475.

  3. Resolve is a ridiculously strong af shield! It absolutely negates any 1 attack, then shields him for 510 damage after. As a melee champ, you're forced to AA, then wait for his shield to drain (on paper says 1 second, but 1.5 seems more accurate) before you use any of your abilities. By this point you've probably already been hit with steel tempest twice, meaning you're going to lose this trade every time regardless of what melee champ you're using.

  4. Too much wave clear for a manaless champ.

  5. Wind wall = screw 4 seconds of any ranged attack you have to offer. Since it starts up in the middle of body, it blocks 360 degrees around him, before being launched into it's chosen direction. It also has way more effective usage than I believe was intended, potentially the best utility move this game has to offer if they were ever ranked.

  6. Good luck landing any skill shots or getting into (or keeping him) in melee range if you have any allied minions around you. The sweeping blade legitimately makes him the most mobile champion in lane. A smart Yasuo can maneuver through ganks with ease using his E, never truly being considered to be in a bad position. The only remedy to this are champions like Nautilus Lissandra Shen Ryze but he's been to known to build item 3102item 3139 situationally just for this occasion.

  7. With having 100% crit and 274% crit damage item 3087 item 3031, the only thing left to do is to improve his damage output, that's 3 open slots for armor penetration. Let me introduce you guys to item 3036 and item 3142 . He has a lot of flexibility with what boots he wears, I normally see item 3117 to compliment his ghost blade. For the 6th item, his options are normally along the lines of item 3156 item 3071 item 3153 item 3072 item 3139 item 3812 . Add this with the fact that ult adds another 50% armor penetration and this guy can safely melt just about any champ late game in a 1v1.

Just because u dont know how to deal with Yasuo doesnt mean Yasuo needs changes. Yasuo is melee ADC and his kit is perfect. He compensates his risk for his damage.

Ruin Lance2/12/2016, 8:54:36 PM2 votes

wtf? where does this extra crit damage and extra crit chance come from? runes? because if so you're totally wrong and no one would use that anyway lol. he also loses crit damage from his passive so that crit damage is also wrong. it takes away TOTAL damage, not just the crit damage, meaning that if he has an infinity edge he would have 225% damage on his basic attack crits and q crits would be 187.5% damage.

mobi boots are a terrible choice for yasuo as well, and i've only ever seen someone build it on him once. most melee champions without ranged poke are super high damage fighters like Jax , XinZhao , and normally 1 or 2 basic attacks will take out his shield. and if you're trying to 1v1 yasuo late game without armor or kiting ability then it's no wonder you think he's "broken". his kit is a clear risk/reward type of kit and not unbalanced at all. i'll provide an explanation for this: in exchange for his double crit he has reduced crit damage. in exchange for his high mobility he has no reliable escape. in exchange for his wind wall it has an extremely high cooldown for a basic ability. in exchange for his ultimate he's risking getting instakilled by the enemy team. in exchange for his shield it can easily be poked down by any kind of ranged attack.

get it yet?

I don't see anything broken here. Let's keep moving along

Your knowledge of Yasuo is worse than a trash can. I'll try to answer point by point to show how flawed your opinion is in the hope that you might understand what's wrong with your thinking.

  1. Crit chance is his only steroid. Fiora and Yi get true damage while Trynda gets more critical chance (up to 35%) without building even one item. PLus, his critical strikes on AAs are 10% lower in magnitude and his Q crit damage is lowered by 25% to compensate.

  2. Steel tempest is Yasuo replacement for AA and hence has to have a short CD, not counting that its widt is really small predictable, its range is nothing exceptional (And I would repeat about the 25% less crit damage).

  3. A shield that he doesn't control that can be wasted by a single AA, note that it doesn't "delete" anything, the first hit is absorbed by the shield wich means that any ranged character poke skill will go through it after level 4 and the first AP item, if you can't wait 1 second to use a skill is your fault.

  4. Yasuo has far less waveclear than any other AD mid and Yi

  5. Wind Wall doesn't block all "ranged attacks", I guess you are of the Yasuos that would try to block each Xerath Q and Velkoz R wondering how did you die to them. It's 360° block comes from such a small time window that it's not exploitable in any way if not for a lucky strike. Plus it's CD is higher than any skill that it blocks, at max rank it has 20% uptime and many ranged attacks pass through it anyway, not to mention that is a completely useless skill against melee characters (which usually have better stats than him). It's a reactive skill that rewards good reflexes and anticipation. Shooting things at his Wall and then blame the game is another matter. Bait it and Yasuo is useless for 26 to 18 seconds.

  6. Controlling your minion wave is basic gameplay Yasuo can't run away from you without available enemies and in lane this means that he either dashes to your tower or gets beaten by you if you are melee or can't escape your poke if not by walking. As Xerath (It's my main so I'm using him as most of my examples) I have no toruble dealing with them, Lux has even less not to mention that both Zed and Talon walk over him if he doesn't do any LCS plays.

  7. Yasuo keeps being terribly squishy and his engage abilities are tied to a telegraphed skillshot or the enemies stacking up when against a Malphite + Yasuo team (bad choice guys). His damage comes by landing his Q on targets hit by his ultimate and if not already Fed he can't 100-0 any1 without giving them the chance to retailate or escape.

Edit: The fact that you only whine about Yasuo doesn't make you any better than ppl whining about being killed by Singed while chasing him.

i only had problems with him when warlord's bloodlust was broken

Yasuo is currently fine (and if anything, a bit weak in most matchups). Many mages can deal with him, many assassins murder him, many bruisers can outright crush him, and many tanks can still deal with him. As to your "points":

[1] If Yasuo can somehow get 10% Crit and 34% crit damage from his rune page at level 1 and his enemy can't punish him for his horrible choice of runes (no armor, no AD, no lifesteal, no MR), they screwed up horribly.

[2] Steel Tempest is his only real damage ability (and even then, it's basically an autoattack). 475 range is still well within the engagement range of most bruisers and tanks if they actually have a gap-closer. Considering Yasuo's base stats in comparison to most bruisers, they can just jump on him and out-trade him with little effort.

Resolve is a ridiculously strong af shield! It** absolutely negates any 1 attack**, then shields him for 510 damage after.

[3] This is a blatant lie. His shield will trigger when damage is taken and that shield will block damage, but it does not negate the attack. If the attack is strong enough to break through the shield, it will; if the attack isn't strong enough to break through the shield, it will still reduce the shield's value appropriately.

[4] His waveclear relies on him getting within near-melee range of the minion wave and is one of his drawbacks. While he can push well when ahead or left alone, it can be dangerous for him to do so if anyone is nearby. If you want to clear from outside melee range, you were limited to either having your Tornado up (and that has to be charged on something else) or Q a minion from max-range with Statikk Shiv (which will take several applications to actually clear the wave).

[5] Windwall doesn't block all ranged attacks (and I'm pretty sure you were complaining about him beating MELEE champions); it only blocks projectiles. Champions such as Vel'koz, Thresh, and Kayle will not have their basic attacks blocked by Windwall since they don't have projectiles, proving your claim is inaccurate.

[6] Yasuo's E only lets him dash through enemy targets; if he gets ganked, his only really option is moving deeper into enemy territory unless he is already in the middle of your minions to begin with. If he's within your minion wave (which he would have to be to dash around reliably as your imply), then trades would be in your favour since he's within your minions while you are away from his (and both his Q and AAs draw minion aggro).

[7] Last Whisper and it's upgrades are generally inefficient items on Yasuo for two main reasons. First, the items only provide bonus armor penetration which will stack multiplicatively with that on his ultimate (if the target had 100 bonus armor, his ult would remove 50 and Lord Dominik's Regards would remove 22.5). While it may be useful while your ultimate is down, it's extremely inefficient gold-wise compared to other options. Second, Yasuo is primarily an assassin and will want to target squishy champion who will likely have little armor and less health than him (more on that in the next paragraph).

Quite frankly, after Yasuo's crit items (i.e. Statikk Shiv and Infinity Edge), he generally want to get survivability. His next purchase would typically be a lifesteal item (usually Blade of the Ruined King, Mercurial Scimitar, or Bloodthirster), followed by defensive items (i.e. Deadman's Plate, Guardian Angel, Banshee's Veil, Randuin's Omen, Maw of Malmortius, Sterak's Gage, etc). Yasuo already has enough damage to kill squishy targets and wear through more durable opponents after 2/3 items, so he needs to survivability to actually stay in a fight without getting bursted down against competent opponents since he is entirely melee range with (relatively) weak defensive steroids for a melee carry (compared to Alpha Strike, Undying Rage, Parry, etc).

Also, Boots of Mobility are quite frankly a horrible option on Yasuo. Berserker Greaves, Ninja Tabi, or Mercury Treads are all far superior options in pretty much every situation.

It is quite apparent by your post that you don't seem to know how Yasuo's kit works, how he builds, or how to play against him. While this is understandable since you are in Bronze 5, I would suggest actually considering what others have been suggesting instead of dismissing them outright when they disagree with your opinions.

If you don't accept that you have much to learn, you will never improve.

K542/12/2016, 3:26:43 PM1 votes

Would any of you down voters care to prove your reasoning for disagreeing by accepting a 1v1 challenge on Howling Abyss using a melee only champ?

Lauchmelder2/12/2016, 3:49:52 PM1 votes

Just to clarify, Yasuo is a Melee AD caster right?

K542/12/2016, 4:21:28 PM1 votes

All you genius minded people are missing the fact that everything I said directly relates to using a melee champ against him. I know how quickly Yasuo gets destroyed by mages and melee casters. I'm not talking about mages and melee casters.
