Maokai is not a support

I've seen Maokai support work with an aggro adc, OP is full of it.

I play Maokai exclusively as a support in mid plat and peaked at plat 1 in the cinderhulk meta. He was amazing as support before the tank item nerfs and changing Zekes to make ADCs carry even harder. he is gold independent, has high base damage, decent cc on engage, amazing cc on peel and can get very tanky on a support budget.

sadly right now he is a niche support against AOE comps and in a burst ADC lane, since tank items were nerfed and supports can't get as tanky as before since zekes is a must buy.
