Playing against a bursty high range mage with CC and shields is always fun! But now she can get a 13.75 second cooldown on her ult after killing a squishy. Boy that sounds fun! Not feast or faminy at all.

I don't think that means what you think it means. There's nothing famine about her ult, it'll either be an extremely short cd, or just a really short cd.

No it is feast or famine.

Either A):

You hit them and they don't die because you don't have enough damage, or you miss. Either way you don't get the refund.

Or B):

You hit them and kill them. Now you can kill more people with the refund and snowball more!

Thats not what feast or famine means. Missing a skill is not "famine" because many champs can miss and just wait for the cooldown. Lux can achieve low cooldown ult so thats what she does. Nothing famine about it.

You either misunderstood me or the buff.

Either Lux is behind and she can't kill you with ult, so she's even crappier and doesn't benefit from the buff, or she can kill you and gets to kill more people and snowball harder. There is no in between. Either she kills you or she doesn't, and if she does she's going to snowball harder.

Her ult will become more reliant on getting kills. She'll become, more or less, like old Akali because their ults require kills to be up more often. Sure she won't be as useless as a feeding akali, her roots, shields, and slows exist, but this ult does help her be snowbally af.

There's still nothing famine about her current ult. Draven's passive is a good example of feast or famine. If he gets kills, he snowballs quickly because of the extra gold he gets. If he never gets kills, his passive is completely worthless and he's behind because of no kill gold. Lux getting kills with her proposed changes just means her ult, which is already a low cd, just becomes an even lower cd. It's either feast or a slightly smaller feast. I understand what you're trying to say, but calling it feast or famine would imply that her current ult without half the cd is bad.

But being behind and not being able to kill with ult is something that can happen to any champion so why act like this is specific to lux? If Lux doesnt get a kill with her ult she doesnt lose anything, she just doesnt gain anything either (like almost every champ). With this buff she just gains more on an already low cd ult.

Yeah but assuming Lux is in need of buffs, she will be even shittier when she is behind and even stronger when shes ahead. This buff just expands the gap between fed and feeding luxs.

But other champions DO have power that's reliant on killing people with their ult lol! I mostly play lux in the support role though so if she does need buffs then i kinda see what you mean. I just wouldn't call it feast or famine cuz the only thing differentiating between good and bad lux is landing a skillshot, which one should be able to do with any skillshot mage.

That's only lategame, and by that time if you were ever going to kill her she'd be dead despite the 110 + x shield since she doesn't build any tanky items. Early game it shields for basically nothing, and damage is usually done while it's casting since it makes her stay in place for any skillshots to end their travel time.

it'll actually shield for about up to 500 damage end game. Not a ton, but enough to do something.

Yes actually it is.

If Lux is behind, she won't be able to kill you with ult more likely, and won't benefit from this buff, and will miss out on the refund.

If Lux is fed, she will be able to kill you with ult more likely, will benefit from this buff EVEN MORE SO, and will get a refund. That refund will let her kill people more often, to get more gold, to get more CDR, damage, and mana, to use her spells more effectively and get more kills.

How is that not feast or famine?

Her ult still has a short cd of 27.5 seconds at rank 3 with 45% cdr. She can also build into a more supportive role if she gets behind and one of her teammates are starting to carry. For example, you may forgo ludens in favor of an athenes or an ardent cencer. Other typical feast or famine champs, like old kat (not sure about the reworked kat), would be dead weight if they were behind. It's all a matter of what your situation is.

TL;DR: Feast: Lux can build on her normal path and be a good long-range carry

        Famine: Lux can build more supportive items and use her support aspects to help her carries

Feast or famine implies needing to get fed to be useful. For Lux, that does not apply.

You do recall we have a thing called Lethality B.S. ADCs, mages that are normally in mid lane constantly want to encroach in bot lane as supports and basically just turn into hyper harass champions and pretty much the rest of the snowball shenigans that go on right? Rather the 'regular' support champions who were the norm to get properly stronger so we get less of the hook harass tankie supports, the middle fingers everything with EZ damage, EZ tankieness and EZ screw around with ya Tahm'Kench and so on.

I rarely get to see 'actual' supports like Soraka Annie Braum Morgana Karma Leona Alistar (usually only when i play it too) and hell even Janna Zyra Nami Lulu that often when compared to the frequency where i would see:

Ziggs Malzahar Thresh Blitzcrank more often, even when it would be a bad idea to pick Thresh because the opponent picked TahmKench who can just middle finger your hooks and tank thru the mess, when you could of played a better kind of support that would synergy'ize better in team fights and could even be used to not allow Tahm to EZ mode thru your team alongside a number of retardedly tankie type champions with relatively strong damage or harass tools.
