Can Mobi boots be used mid?

I am a support main, but recently I've been stretching out trying other things. But before I mained Support, I mained Viktor Mid. Now the one thing I've recently been trying to improve is my map awareness, and on many occasions I've noticed a friend of mine get camped top 4-5 times in laning phase, which leads to toxicity from him, and a bad game. Now I thought of an idea. If I keep working on map awareness, in sure I would be looking at it more than my friend. So I made this idea to help my friend get "anti-camped" if that makes sense. I decided that if my friend goes top, I would go mid. I would play viktor per usual, but with a catch. If I win my lane early I would build mobility boots over the regular sorc pen. Boots. I would constantly roam top river, and place wards on both the blue side or red side entrances (somewhere around rift herald and the small bushes at the side of the river closest to mid) and while I constantly look at the map, I can warn my friend of any ganks and keep him alive. He is much better than me at playing the game and fighting. So if he stays alive and gets ahead, I figure he can carry. I would go support mode mid, I would play by the usual, I would just have mobility boots to ward top side jungle, to keep my friend alive, and have him carry. How does this idea sound? (I figure something like this belongs in this board but if it doesn't let me know)
