Is removing the "sightstone" out of the question?

Think about it for a moment... supports can start their builds earlier, everyone starts warding again thus giving more and better map coverage, Specific champions don't get such an easy jump advantage (lee sin, Kat, Jax, etc), and players are better rewarded for destroying a ward because its more difficult to replace.

Just a thought!

that would just be a straight nerf to supports

everyone has to buy wards regardless of whether support has a sighstone or not, with the possible exception of the adc, and only early on for them.

As a support main since S2, Sightstone is a blessing.

I think this would hit supports a lot, because they would still be doing the bulk of the warding. Its a gold efficiency thing. Its more efficient to have one gimp on the team than to have everyone behind slightly behind. Sightstones are there to help alleviate that gimpness for the support, and between it and the support item, you can actually get a halfway decent build sometimes.

...or people would just be forced to constantly buy wards every b instead of getting sightstone. The only thing this would change is make supports have even less health while constantly buying wards.

Your ward coverage would triple

not if they want to place wards, Reality is, other roles need to rush their core items, having to worry about warding will delay their builds, IF they even bother to ward at all, and supports will be using a lot of gold just to keep the map warded... I often play support, and I like using pinks in the river.... it hurts my pocket but it's nice to have perma-vision if no one notices... I can't imagine how much my pockets are going to suffer if sightstone didn't exist anymore

Yes sightstone is a blessing and eases a lot of the supports trouble, but i would argue that the sightstone doesn't solve the real issue. If everyone is buying wards then everyone benefits. Sightstone makes it easier for supports to continue their builds while keeping their role duties but if it was everyone's duty and supports had better build options then they could feel a little more a part of the team, rather then the mule.

As a Katarina player I promise you there is no Katarina player who should or will buy sightstone, we might just buy an extra ward just in general to escape but never a sightstone, unless the person is a Katarina support which is a dumb thing

Except it never worked that way.

Not to mention, Sightstone is part of the support build, so building it is in your build.
