Nah there were good news:

  • The good news was, hey there is this new shiny jungle and it's FUN! And it REALLY IS THX RIOT!!!! Well kinda all they needed was buffing tank jungler for a bit and - oh dear,
  • The bad news was, oh hey sorry we actually don't want that, nerf, nerf, Nerf.

But hey there is good news again! The patch 5.5!

I hope there is no more nasty surprises, but considering Riot, anything is possible at this stage.

Yeah, the pro is mostly the new jungle. I think having two charges of smite adds flexibility to the role, and the variety of tier 2 smites and upgrades is great (at least in theory... they're still working on making Poacher's worthwhile, and replacing Juggernaut with Cinderhulk). Monster buffs require some strategic planning and dragon now gives the team something other than just... more gold.

Obviously new jungle is a work in progress, but they've been putting a lot of work into it and I think it's much more challenging and interesting than the old jungle.

I'm expecting that patch 5.5 will have a lot of pro in it, judging from what we're seeing on PBE. I think it was a poor decision on Riot's part to release a bunch of nerfs and item removals before informing the community of what exactly they wanted to fill those gaps with, but 5.5 looks great.

EDIT: OH! Also I personally love the new SR map.
