There's not much reason to nerf the itemization of the current weakest Champion type just because an extremely average mage has good synergy with one of the few good remaining AP items.

Aurelion Sol's not particularly strong in the first place, let alone strong enough to justify nerfing an item just because of his existence. And said item already has much better and more powerful interactions with pre-existing Champions who already have it cemented as a core item in all their builds.

If something isn't overly powerful, and it's not mechanically unhealthy, what reason is there to nerf it?

They didn't nerf it for Amumu's W so I don't see why they would for Sol. His is harder to hit but has greater range, so it balances out.
