Tank Kindred with Redemption? (Hint - her ult + Redemption)

Hey there, Onwodori here.

Another brain tickler - what merit would Kindred have (zero, is an acceptable answer) in playing them as a tank with Redemption? The idea of course is that a generous amount of their damage comes from their passive's stacks and the third hit on W and that their damage is as it would be normal early any how, so building full tank + bloodrazor would still leave you with a considerable output later on. Even off tank items like Steraks would work well. Of course, the piece of resistance is the synergy between their ult keeping everyone alive and the new item, Redemption.

Basically, you whittle everyone in your circle down as low as possible and time it so that you get a nice heal when the ult expires and Redemption hits immediately afterward. 10% maximum health true damage on low health enemies is *amazing in theory!

The build might go something like:

item 1419 / item 1413 depending on whether your team needs a proper tank and then:

item 3107 item 3025 item 3053/ item 3022 ---------------item 3143/item 3083 item 3065------------ item 3111 / any boots you feel like

Let me know how silly this is.

I suspect it may be valuable, though both froz mallet and icebourne is overkill with the slows. The ulti/item combo is potentially useful. ZZrot would give you very annoying split power late game, and GA is always good for tankyness (question here, can you activate redemption whilst in the 'GA revival timezone'?).

Just reading 'tittle' made mine do the same.

Yeah sorry for not being a native english speaker and mastering your language to perfection but still it's a shit idea to build an ADC tank with a support item just because the said item has a broken active tapped to it.

why tank? item 3107 doesn't seem to require tank stats or anything.

Agreed. I don't see why you wouldn't just pick Redemption as 3rd item and continue her build as normal.

I wouldn't get too used to it, though; I suspect changes to Redemption aren't that far out to make sure it's not picked up on non-supports. It's already not that great for carries, but it may be too widespread.

For the most part theres little reason why kindred needs to be the one with redemption in the first place. The support could very well build it, and see kindred ult as a prime target.

There might be a little bit of a delay in ult->redemption in solo queue compared to in organised play or having it built yourself, but many supports want to build it anyway and have stat synergy, and good supports would probably be looking for good opportunities to use the redemption active anyway,

no, good supports try to not die to begin with.

the redemption active is only a contingency plan if they do die to try to have one final attempt to give their team a hand.

You realise you don't need to be dead to use the active?
